  • Hiyaaaa! Have you considered - fast abs magic (google it)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got amazing 6 pack abs and lost tons of weight with it.

  • Those cafe owners Ron and the woman (his wife maybe) were a little rude not to call the police after what Rocky did to Clark, especially for knocking Clark into the glass door causing it to break and probably since he's caused problems in the past which the woman probably wasn't happy with from 0:03-0:05. (I wonder if they were going to call the police but, Rocky left at 2:32 before they could call). If Rocky is a frequent customer, they should have told the police to come and wait for him.

  • he gave up everything and she still was not happy .

  • Lol

As much as they try, they can never recapture the genuine superman feeling that reeve movies had. The first 2 reeve movies were pure magic, untouchable and will never be surpassed. RIP reeve

  • AS WE BLACKFOLKS LIKE TO SAY DONT START SHIT YOU CANT FINISH! HE KNEW HE COULD NOT FIGHT WITHOUT HIS POWERS, BUT HE STARTED THAT FIGHT WITH THAT BIG BAD WHITE TRUCKER, KNOWING HE WAS GOING TO GET HIS ASS KICKED, DUMMY,

  • cheap shot at Clark!!!!and Clark was not tough to begin with...either way he's fucked.

  • Um I hope you mean Lois. Unless Clark went coomse coomsa

  • Clark was really naive to think Lois loved him and not his superpowers. The Silver Age Lois, especially the Lois from these movies loved Superman and his powers, not Clark Kent. Other Lois Lanes loved Clark, but this Lois could care less about CK.

  • Was that Mel Gibson at the diner?

  • I mean maybe stop the rape with his bare hands (written below)

  • Here's my idea of the screenplay. Instead of picking fights at a local bar because someone took his favorite seat, Superman should still fight for justice. He should have tried to stop the robbery or maybe rape with his bare hands. And, of course, he fails miserably. This old movie is a cartoon. If writer wants to learn more, he should watch 'Dark Knight' instead of some other Batman movies. Then again, 9 out of 10 movies in Hollywood stink, in my professional opinion. So maybe it's okay.

  • Even if there has been a fight, I still say Superman should have had more conversation with the guy who sat on his seat. The screenwriter is so horrible he should have worked for kid's shows like Power Rangers.

  • "I think maybe somone outta teach you some manners." I can still remember the feeling of my palm on my face when I first heard him say that.

  • Did he elbow him in the stomach? Any guy can take that.

  • Notice at the very end when Clark says, "damn it"! I've never heard Superman/Clark Kent swear before. That was a first, and to the best of my comic book knowledge, the only time I ever heard him swear.

  • @BlayzedBlue "damn" isn't seen as a swear word in Britain. It seems more serious in America.

  • I think as time goes by movies become more sophisticated. This movie is made in 80's and I find it down right vulgar. Good guys (especially strong kind) don't fight just because some guy sat on their chair. There are plenty of other empty seats in the restaurant. I bet the writer of this movie used to make cartoon scripts or comic books. But then in 80's everyone who made movies (like Rocky or Rambo) was vulgar and naive. And Michael Jackon thinks gangsters are cool.

  • @calvinjun perhaps "Clark" wanted to see just how strong he could be as a human, and no longer a Kryptonian. Unfortunately, he lost the test. And he wasn't necessarily trying to start a fight. He asked him to step outside, which could mean he wanted to speak with him.

  • @BlayzedBlue Perhaps you are right. He wanted to go outside to "talk" but he was afraid this guy might throw a punch while they "talk" and therefore he should talk outside. Superman might be a tough guy but the writer is a nerd who is always afraid of fists. Tough guys are not worried about fists while they talk; they are more relaxed. And, as for testing, why didn't he fight boxers or karate champs? The way Superman behaved here is totally embarrassing.

  • @calvinjun

     What a gay comment.

  • At 3:58 ZOODDD!! (ROTFL! thats just too funny)

  • @Spike20TRILLION Dalten said it best from Road house. Never under estimate your enemy.

  • Louis and Clark! LOL

  • Only a coward hits from behind!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The way I parse this scene is that superman didn't know what it was like to be human. He didn't know how to fight like a human either. It all took him by surprise. That's why he lost the fight. He lost the fight in his mind not physically. I think the flaw of all of this isn't that he lost the fight but that he was so ignorant of what it would mean to become human and lose his powers. He did it so impulsively and without concern for the consequences. It makes him look adolescent.

  • good thing Lois lane wasnt dating bruce banner .."sir just get out of my seat" "don't make me angry. you wouldnt like me when i'm angry" rocky sucker punches banner ..then the green eyes flash

  • Bruce Wayne woulda beat that guys ass

  • @fashizze HELLL YEAHH!!!

  • @Swordsman808 the part that cracks me up is when he gets up off the floor and comes back at rocky who's sittin at the counter ."boy you just don't have sense enough to stay down do you" ..quick elbow to the stomach LMAO

  • lol .well in all fairness clark was the one who started all this ..trying to be a tough guy and all without his powers .."somebody should to teach you some manners sir" ."excuse me sir would you care to step outside".. rocky didn't pick the fight ..clark had it comin hahahah and got his ass kicked in front of his woman ..humiliating to say the least

  • This was one of the major flaws of the Superman films. They should have made Clark get stabbed or shot or something instead of getting hit like this. I know he was surprised and never felt that kind of pain before. But how could he fight the villains if he can't fight this garbage as he calls the bully?

  • Yes and Mjollnir could also transport Thor and Superman back to Krypton where Superman is mortal. Mortal human strength Thor in the film makes S.H.E.I.L.D.s men look like ""a bunch of mall cops"". Rocky here would be dead.

  • kidder was a dam good actress

  • This one scene basically ruined the whole movie. If I were to write the script, I would've shown the first part where he gets suckerpunched into the film booth but then I would've had him tackle the redneck and fight him dirty and had the fight be more equal. He was able to take the Kryptonians easily even though they were equally matched, just like he was equally matched against the redneck in this scene.

  • @dcram76 Excellent point. And the Kryptonians weren't just random idiots from the backwoods of West Bumfuck, Indiana. They were actually smart, deadly opponents.

  • this seems like the same scene to me

  • That flute theme always creeped me out. It's so eerie.

  • Who is this Superman?! Come and kneel before Zod!

  • typical Southern redneck thug with his cowardly attacks!

  • @stonem001 yea he attacked clark from behind-all bullies are cowards

  • Who's Louis?

  • @Spike20TRILLION steak

  • Would Rocky get charged with a crime?

  • cheeseburger, Coke, fries, and SIDE SALAD?

  • Superman ll was without doubt the best of the series with superman l second.

  • Kneel before Zod. KNEEL!

  • Rocky is a coward, hitting a man when his back is turned. I love it when he gets his when Superman has his powers back.

  • And the best part, Lois leaves him to walk and hitchhike all the way back to the Fortress of Solitude, in the snow. Thank you, XDel. I love this!

  • the music in superman always makes me think of the first time i flew from uk to canada on the 777. the music makes me think of flying

  • 3:43

    Who is this SUPERMAN?!!!

General Zod is a bad man.

    ZOD!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE CHRISTOPHER REEVE

    R.I.P. :-(

(And I love Margot Kidder too XDD).

  • 2:14 - 2:30, this scene is the clear evidence why people CANNOT ACCEPT that Kate Bosworth is the continuation of Lois Lane in Superman Returns!

  • Do you see this fellas, this is why you never give up your powers for a woman.

Never, convert to a woman's church, giving up your own

Never tell a woman how much money you have,

Never sell your guns off to make a woman happy.

Never get rid of that kick ass bike, to please a woman.

Never ever quit the band to make a woman happy.

Never ever give up your super powers to please a bitch.

Because bitches just cant be pleased

Everything you ever need to know about women is in this movie scene

  • @321boileranimal You forgot one more important thing:

NEVER PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN JUST TO PLEASE A WOMAN!!!

    >;-)

  • @321boileranimal Bitches and whores, man. Bitches and whores.

  • @321boileranimal You date a woman and she'll give you a subscription to playboy you let her marry you she'll throw them in the trash.

  • @321boileranimal lol you use a scene from a superman movie to attack women wow what a pathetic display of misogyny.

  • @321boileranimal

Well said. Neg the target and obviate the... whatever you call her

  • @321boileranimal Ha ha ha!!!! He may be on to something! :)

  • wow ck is not a man or superman

  • you're seats in there four-eyes. lol

  • Even the mute giant super-criminal Non without his superpowers would beat the sh*t out of most men. The guy was a former professional heavyweight boxer. Clark on the other hand was raised on a farm and is really nothing more than a water boy turned reporter.

  • R.I.P to the "real" Superman. = (

  • Sucker Punch@1:30!

  • "i dont like your meat anyway!" lol

  • love the look on his face when he hears the president say Zod's name...his look is like what the fuck did i hear that right???and then when Zod lays down that challenge hes like alright i made a mistake im heading back getting by mojo back and im going out and whooping some ass...u fucken rule Superman!!!!

  • Everytime I

Watched this that guy pissed me off makes u wonder what would u do if some dirty redneck with no standards starts hiting on your girl and testing your manhood infront of her?

  • @NASA19 This is the reason for concealed carry, something you would not understand. Since not all were made physically equal, Mr. Colt made a solution. All the woman had to do is put a 45 slug into the guys' lower jaw and decorate the ceiling of the diner with his brains. Problem solved. If you still do not understand just search Terrence Stamp in "the Limey" on youtube. (warehouse scene) Listen for "wait"! and "ouch"! by the soon to be dead dagos.

  • at 2:11 owned again lol

  • 1:27 Owned lol

  • The desire for Lois Lane to fall in love with Superman's nerdy, nebbish alter-ego is in actuality everyman's desire. Does'nt happen.

  • @Abobojo doesn't

  • Clark Kent is not the guy Clark is an act that acts as a dork so when people say dont clark look like superman they all say dont be daft not that dork. Superman is the real guy in the suit.

  • @NielsShoe I agree. This actually never made sense to me. How can superman face 3 super villains that are just as strong as him but he can't face down this one guy. When he was fighting Non, who was stronger, it wasn't any different. Superman's true character would be to fight that guy even if his nose is bleeding. I am sure the 3 hurt him as well.

Its like he lost his powers and got a personality change.

  • you don't need to be superman to smash a bar stool over a redneck's head

  • You people are exaggerating. Superman 2 was a pretty good movie. Not as good as part 1, but still good. Superman 3 and 4 were awful.

  • Notice that when Krypton is depicted in comics or movies you see noone flying around.Kryptonians are a product of their red sun and I think Jor el when saying source of his power should have finished his thought with...on Earth.

  • i was only 5 when i saw this in the theater, but i do remember people cheering when Clark walks through the door at the end.

  • @Spike20TRILLION i don't think he pissed. I thought he overheard that trucker hitting on his woman and he came out to see what was up.

  • ouch!!

  • Why did Clark just walk up to the guy and stare down at him after the first knockdown? Why not lock in a rear-naked choke on the guy while the guy was sat down and eating his food and completely vulnerable? Stupid Clark Kent!

  • I am glad when at the end he kicks that dickhead's ass as clark kent instead of Superman.

  • This scene proved to me how the whole design of the movie must have been truly psychedelic. ..At least, that's how I've always hoped the movie was arrived at; only way to excuse it even theoretically.

Kent was urinated on as a character in this scene. Not imo, he was. And by extension, so was Reeves. I hereby apologize to him for the talentless subgoblins that forced this movie into existence.

  • @o0Dystopia0o Agreed, the writing for this scene and ipso facto, this film, was terrible. Clark Kent without powers should still be able to kick some random idiot truck driver's ass off of fighting experience alone (accrued from hundreds of battles against superpowered villains.)

But this scene doesn't work anyway. No one, not even a complete sociopath, behaves as that redneck in the diner does without provocation. This is just laziness on behalf of the writers, i.e., a cheap plot device.

  • @GaeasBlessing You are absolutely right. Read my post.

  • @GaeasBlessing No one, not even a complete sociopath, behaves as that redneck in the diner does without provocation---wrong,i know people who would start fights with strangers for people for alot less. This scene is unfortunately a true refelection of spome people in our society, infact the other evening i was in mcdonalds and a man was belching constantly very loudly, when i asked him politely to have manners he got very agressive with me,theres folk out there that look for trouble

  • "Where the hell have you been mack? On a desert island"

What did the owner mean by that???

  • @happy7117 He means Clark must have been living on a desert island to be oblivious to what Zod is.

  • @phishthefish

This reminded me of this Scottish guy who looked just like General Zod. He hated all Americans too.

  • @pluto4847 Haha. Did he scream his own name maniacally like Zod does at 3.58? I always rofl at that part.

  • @phishthefish

Yes in fact he did. He said, 'Who is this American?' Come to me American, if you dare, come and kneel before a SCOT! SCOT! His name was Scott. And he was from Scotland, was the exact double of General Zod.

  • @happy7117 If Kent/Superman wasn't so in gaga love with Lois Lane, he would have known that Zod and the other super villians were terrorizing the planet. But since he was so far up Lois' butt, he had no clue what was going on until that moment...

  • Jeez, after being impervious to pain all his life, falling in love, and feeling overwhelming human emotion all the sudden, anyone would get their butt kicked by some chump rude bastard trucker. (not to mention bringing it on by one's self.) As a kid, this scene also made my heart sink a little watching it. (at least the ending diner scene is funny as hell!)

  • This shows us that If Superman had to fight comic book charicters of comparable strength,in most cases Superman would lose.Thor, with a movie out next year,is in the same ballpark strength wise and has many millennia experience as a warrior in hand to hand combat. It would be no contest.Even if reduced to being no more than equal to this mans strength,Thor would absolutely bitch slap this guy.

  • @martinishot yeah but thor is weak in comparasion to the movie supermans. Remember, sups moved the moon with ease, i highly doubt that guy could even survive in space.

  • @DarPower1 What are you talking about? Thor routinely travels through the cosmos and when whirling Mjolnir transports himself and anyone near him to other points in this and other Galaxys, even other dimensions. If he deposits Superman and himself at the red sun of krypton it's game over.Thor is Thor anywhere. Read up on Thors history and you will see comparable feats of strength.Thors skills for millenia have been honed in battle scince childhood.Who taught SM to kick ass? Ma and Pa Kent?

  • @martinishot Eh sups survived from a black hole and brushed it off like it was nothing, he fucking towed thousands of planets at once when he was a kid!

  • @martinishot i had a question about the red sun. In SII, Superman and the villains lose their powers once they are exposed to the red Kryptonian sun's rays. In part 1, when Jorel is talking to teenage Kalel in the FOS, he tells him that the red kryptonian sun is the source of his strength and nourishment but the cause of Krypton's destruction. Isn't that a double standard? Just curious.

  • @msmithstud Yes it is,but I cannot help it.Before this scene Supermans powers are gone after he is told he will be exposed to the red rays of kryptons sun. After breaking free from their prison,Zod discovers the closer they come to this. Yellow sun the more power they have. Those are the orig Superman rules of possessing powers from the orig comics followed by this movie.Comic writers have changed these rules and If you accept them you will have a problem with the films.

  • @martinishot

I'm surprised that you didn't mention that Mjollnir was a magical weapon, and magic is one of the Superman's weaknesses.

  • what does clark say at 1:29-1:30??

  • @angelhangirl Sounds like he is saying "Its alright honey"

  • Clark must have had the fastest pee ever.

  • Once you've watched this, click on SUPERMAN DINER FIGHT IN THE END. It's a happy ending after all.

  • He gave up his superpower for this ugly hag? He could be getting LAID every day by a hot babe!

  • some people have criticized the ending when he goes back to the diner to whip Rocky's ass, saying that Clark Kent wouldn't get even. Personally, I don't care if it was out of character for him. It's one of the best scenes in the movie. I could only imagine the people cheering in the theater.

  • @msmithstud People would've cheered even more if Clark had punched a hole in Rocky's chest, tearing out his heart and pushing it down his throat.

  • omg I love this part

now that clark thinks he is still al big and tuff but he got his butt kicked badly

and he saw his own blood for the first time

man, If I was chris reeve i would have been laughing my face off

you rock chris reeve(even though you are dead)

  • Richard Donner SHOT this scene!!!!! The media at the time tried to say otherwise.......But Donner is IN the scene! :P

  • @CalgarSkull Donner even said in the commentary that Lester once took credit for it, despite that Donner's in it. The Salkinds really f'd up firing Donner. Even Hackman didn't come back to reshoot scenes for II because of this.

  • @msmithstud Yes, he DID. In the Superman II comentary he states "Somone else took credit for this scene but then they would have had to had hired me as an actor(due to his cameo).

  • @msmithstud No i seen the donner cut and it makes no sense, filled with plot holes, and lastly has the worst editing i have ever seen. Id take the paris stuff over LOIS JUMPING OUT OF A WINDOW anyday.

  • @DarPower1 True. There are definitely some scenes that i thought were more realistic. I thought Lois jumping into NF made more sense than jumping out of a skyscraper window. Another, Donner shot some deleted scenes that were included in the special features section of the dvd. For example, in the deleted scene, the villains enter the FOS together w/out Lois and Luther, but once they are in the FOS, lois and luther are on their backs???

  • @DarPower1 It wasn't finished that's why the editing is bad. Many scenes in the final film were Donners

  • If Rocky tried the same with Daniel Dreiberg in front of Laurie Yupiter, he'd feel A LOT of pain. former Nite Owl II was past his prime, but he didn't forget how to fight, and he showed it when the street gang tried to mug him and Laurie.

And Clark/Superman in this scene looked like a complete idiot.

    1. There was a knowledge of 18 galaxies in the Fortress of Solitude, and no self-defense lessons? I don't believe it.

    2. It's clear that Lois is unable to love Clark Kent, she only wants Superman.

  • :23 - :28 (Jeez...would you like that served in a trough Lois?)

  • I prefer the Richard Lester cut.

  • i love the Donner cut.

  • Love the Harrington jacket Clark

  • "Come to me, Supermayne, if you day-a!!"

  • dose anyone remember a scene when lois Shoots clark with a Gun???? i remember it is from a superman movie but i dont rememer which movie. can anyone help????? please???

  • its a screen test that was used in Superman II : Richard Donner Cut.

  • thank you

  • @kiki5luvs5clark5k i just saw that the other day it was on american movie classics

and you are right she did shoot him

  • @pagehasexpired i watched it too on the same channel and it said richard donner cut so i figured that there were 2 different kinds ^^

but at least i was right! heh

  • the best part of superman 2 is when zod is blowing the people around on the street and the guy in rollerskates and red vest goes flying by!

  • Clark could maybe beat the trucker guy, but the guy attacked him from suprise while Clark tried to be fair and not bust the place. He's rightousness was against him this time.

  • He never really learned how to fight, he had his powers, he didn't have to

  • But keep in mind, he could stand against Zod and his company alone, thought they got the same super power. They could only win, when they started threating the citizents.

  • I always hated three interpretations this movie presented.

    1. The fact that Clark Kent is useless without his powers is complete shit.

    2. Why he choose to be with someone who only loves him for what he does and not who he is.

    3. Clark Kent is the MAIN character, not Superman

  • @Aviancie

well in this sitution he is useless without his powers....

secondly, you know love is blind if you love someone really all the other things doesn't look so important, only when you stop loving suddenly you see things clear again.

third, it's depends which side do you take - in the movies Superman was the character and clark was only a cover up - in the series like lois and clark it was the other way around with superman the fake id and clark the real one

  • @Aviancie I totally agree with you. Number one on the fact that they made it appear that Clark basically can't do anything (not even fight!) without his super powers, secondly that Lois loved SUPERMAN not Clark, and thirdly Superman is supposed to be the real person, whereas Clark is just an alter-ego, secret identity.

  • @Aviancie pish!!!! if clark was the main character the the movie wud have been called CLARK KENT!!!! jesus!

  • @supermandave78 It's hard to take you serious with that kind of grammar.

  • @Aviancie well, seriously, Superman is the main character?

  • @Aviancie

Clark Kent is not the main character dude

  • @Aviancie well he is useless against 3 people with super powers.

  • @Aviancie This happens to be one of my favorite scenes of Any movie. I disagree with you, but I understand you're frustration if you're a Superman fan. The reason for all three of your points, is irony. It makes him more interesting this way. He's the strongest man ever, but without his powers, Bruce Wayne for one, could beat him in a fistfight and he's naive(the ultimate boyscout). There was always an ironic love triangle back in the day, between Lois, Clark and Superman. This scene is metaphoric

  • This totally happened to me, except my woman left me face down in my dinner after I'd had my ass kicked ...

  • wow!! what happen after that? did she leave you foe good?

  • Its a pity lois was with clark kent!

she should have been with David/Bruce Banner!!!!!!!

I Wonder what would have happend to rocky then ??????

  • It's L-O-I-S not Louis...

  • By the way, to the comments about Clark picking the fight, he did not. The trucker started it, he was antagonistic from the start. And he insulted CK infront of Lois. Sure CK didn't have the best descions, but that's what makes the scene so great.

  • Kal-El seemed so naive with his decisions in this movie. This version of Lois Lane had ZERO INTEREST in Clark Kent. She wanted Superman, period. Other Lois Lanes had a desire for CK, but not the Margot Kidder one, all she cared for was Superman and she thought of CK as her silly brother. Kal-El just comes across as a moron giving up his powers so he can turn into her loser best friend or brother that will never get into her bed.

  • Well clark may have been built but he wasnt superman anymore. he looked n acted like clark kent n thats why the big guy pushed him around. n the challenged made sense cuz he turned his back on his heritage the moment he stepped in2 that chamber n gave up his powers. so he thought he was human n he got his ass whooped like one....

  • Uhh.... Clark? ( notice how i said 'clark' n not 'superman'?) Lois didnt fall in luv with clark kent. She fell in luv with SUPERMAN! So when u gave up ur powers, u turned into the loser best friend who never had a chance with her! She luvs superman not clark kent u dumb ass! u deserved that ass whoopin, bitch!

  • @JB0523 True but, Lois knew Superman was Clark Kent since he told her his secret identity so she probably loved him as both Superman and Clark Kent.

  • Haha he forgot he didnt have superpowers anymore n rocky reminded him. lol

  • Awesome scene. Turned my stomach when I was a kid.

  • Agreed, it bothered me as a kid as well.

  • The guy in the flannel shirt who beats up Clark looks exactly like Ed Parpart.

  • weres bats when you need him?

  • He was up in the watch tower laughin his ass off...

  • lol bats pointing at it and saying to wonder woman look at him gettin his ass beat by a thug i would eat for breakfast now come here wonder woman so i can show you whats under my belt and forget all about stupidman lol

  • Why are people such cowards?

i would have beat the crap out of that idiot if i saw that, what am i the only courageous person around???

Meh now here comes the excuse comments lol

  • This scene broke my heart when I was a kid.........

  • @kman6969 seriously!! just watchin this scene is breakin me down...

  • @kman6969 me too. i just wished this scene was never done. i was in tears. worse now. c. reeve & wife dana are both gone. i'm glad i've gotten the chance to have met reeve & gotten his autograph. a true gentlemen.**** i have difficulty watching him now.****

  • @d4seasons

    What a complete sissy...

  • @ooOmegaSupremeoo who are you referring to ?

  • @ooOmegaSupremeoo lol- I agree

  • "ZOOODDD!!!"

  • This was a scary scene.. Looking at it now- Clark should have just moved away. I think the problem is that the scene makes him act out of Character.

Superman never was one to pick fights in Smallvile-ie Brad in the 1st film.

I think they could have made a better scene where Rocky is a mugger trying to mug the bar or Lois when they were leaving the bar.

Clark could have got stabbed or shot trying to play hero. It would have been more in character instead of Clark picking a macho brawl.

  • Yea this scene made him seem like such a wimp. Without powers hes terrible. Thats why batman is better...

  • I agree. This wasn't a good build up for the supervillain fight. How was he able to take on that big guy Non when he couldn't take this trucker on? Bad story line. They should have written this scene differently.

  • @beachball8088 i guess you didn't see the movie that's why you are all in the dark about it - he fight the supervillians only AFTER he got his powers back - here he is powerless and therefore can't beat the tracker
