  • I was a migrant worker but from his time, more later years, I was that little boy he writes, I saw everything, i saw the discrimination, the humilation, the explotation of a migrant worker by the white people in the north, but above all i saw a group of people who were heroic in the fields, mothers, children, and fathers with pride, honor and dignity that emplify a herotic spirit that no one can obtain except a migrant worker! gracias adios senior Rivera por tu voce!

  • I just read Tomas Rivera, stories about his migrant workers experience. I experience this too. It brought so much memories back, and I could see his characters in his stories. I thought noone would write about this. It made me proud that I experince that type of work because its made appreciated life. "Thank You Tomas, for reminding me!"

  • Hello, I just read "Tomas and the Library Lady" yesterday in my Reading Education Class at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. I was very surprised to learn that Tomas Rivera was from Crystal City. My last name is also Rivera and my father and his family are from Crystal City too. I thought it would be interesting to find out if we are related to him in some way. I have no way to find out. I was wondering if you knew Tomas Rivera's family tree and if so could you share it with me? Thanks!
