No this is common. What is happening is that the snake is overfed and can't digest any more. What happens in reality is that the snake is now in danger from the rodent. Many rodents who survive placement with a snake soon get bored of the environment and start gnawing at the snake and they can damage them quite extensively. I saw this with my friend's boa who was racist and would eat only white and golden live mice but not black ones. We would have to take the black ones out after a day or so
