I don't get why people hate Dawkins so much. A lot of people think he's an arrogant asshole but I think he's remarkably respectful to these whack jobs he interviews. It would be hard for me not to laugh in their faces.

I don't think newspapers exaggerate the risks of scientific medicine. Just have a look of the research of Stanford Professor Ioannides and you will realize that Dawkins underestimates the risks of medical remedies. Not that the so called "alternative medicine" is efficient...

black holes are at the center of our galaxy, it gives the stars something to orbit, keeps them together, there are not a million little black holes inside of you it is impossible, if that particle accelerator on the French and Swiss boarder made a black hole in an experiment, which it is really not able to do by the way, it would be so small it would evaporate almost instantly, how anyone can believe that some are in us and are responsible for our emotions is beyond me.

Medical science also has a one size fits all aproach which speaking from personal experience doesnt always work.

The growing lack of trust in the medical community is in part because you hear so many horror stories where people have trusted in doctors and it has turned out badly. Followed by a complete lack of accountability and protective culture of the medical system.

People are more informed about their own health than ever before.

People want alternatives and to basically be in control of their own bodies.

Personally I am glad for this freedom of choice.

I love Dawkins and all, but how he is going about some of this is really almost anti science. You know people thought the idea that the sun was the center of the solar system were laughed at. I mean, yeah a lot of this really is stupid crap (like the angles, come on), but a lot of it should be looked into scientifically, not just with an opinion. Some of these things should be looked over better, studied even, not just laughed at.

But they haven't and he even says that, that none of these things have been tested in a controlled experiment. I mean, I really don't care honestly because I believe them to be crap, I'm just saying that's not reason to make fun of them.

Ok, so whose job is it to test all these things. Most alternative medical claims don't need to be tested. Ex. homeopathy. The "theory" is laughable. With the misuse of the word "Quantum" there's nothing to test. To say the haven't all been tested misses the point. Read Dawkins and you'll know he doesn't base all this stuff on opinion.

None of these things are new, they've all been disproven before. It's probably disproven time and time again, although I agree with you, and I'm sure Dawkins would agree with you that you shouldn't take his word for it but should put it to the test.
