Let's just be honest...the average Christian suffers more so from these passions than they ought too because they have a pathetically small prayer life. The Christian that maintains a healthy prayer life (remember when it used to be called "Sweet Hour of Prayer"...now it's 4-1/2minutes of prayer) suffers much less from these passions and temptations. Get the average Christian to pray more and more and sin becomes distasteful to them. I welcome these temptations...they draw me closer to God.
BTW, appearantly Paul suffered with the same issue, mentioned in Romans 7. Apart from what many of these selfrightous ministers may say, this life is hard, and the only way to overcome is by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. No matter how much you try to torment the flesh with riggorous discipline, we will always fall short because of the activity in the mind. Therefore as stated appropriately "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the BODY of this death?"
Thanks for sharing this. I've seen people get saved, join church and then attend maybe one new membership class and then they are left on their own without any insight or instruction on how to deal with physical desires and repent from sin on a day to day basis.
I thihk that it is right on time for all of us my brother. . . The woed of God is the only thng that keeps me right on line. If I believe God I will obey and commit myself to God daily. By the way, I love your two other additions. . . PN
