  • @a123abc12 lol, my XJ isnt a "real" jeep? i know my nearly stock xj can get to places an H2 or H3 cant. i believe chyrsler made damn good jeeps, what other motors besides the 4.0L run strong for 300,000 miles (besides diesels)? and i do agree that jeep is going downhill. i wouldnt buy any jeep without a 4.0L under the hood.

    Not a fan of H2 and H3 but sorry - your nearly stock XJ will not get any farther then H2 or H3. True 4.0 very durable motors. However if you keep fixing it - many engines will last as long. Engine block cannot work on it's own...

  • @a123abc12 lol go to google and lookup, "gm hummer on its way out". theres an article on "themoneytimes" site explaining it all. hummer is out of business and has not released a closing date frame yet. GM has decided to focus their vehicle research on mire important benefactors after a deal with Tengzhong (chinese heavy machine company) got rejected. face the facts. hummer is done. people dont want to pay that much for a machine that does so little.

  • Well, seach for quigly or pathfinder vans, they take mostly Ford Econolines, a few GM vans and put live axles under the front, making them 4wd. There are video's of them in the MOAB, I'd rather have one of them.

  • Are you kidding? The H3 has the worst vehicle dynamics I've EVER driven! And 5400lbs with a straight 5? Torsion spring suspension? Is this 1982?

  • The '09 H3's around 4,600 pounds, so I'm not sure where you're pulling 5,400 pounds. The straight 5 is enough to get it from 0-60 in 11 seconds to the Rubicon's 11.1. 241 ft/lbs toque @ 4,600 to the Rubicon's 235 ft/lbs @ 4,600 RPM.

    But hey. Rubicon's a flashback to 1941, while we're talking age of technology.

  • My fault, I had an LR3 on the mind, H3's weight 4700ish. Which is still a heavy ass load to pull up a hill (see this video)!

    As for the Rubicon, it has coil springs all around, unlike its great grandfather from 1941 which had leaf springs all around.

    The H3 has a torsion spring suspension in the front and leaf springs in the rear. THE ONLY reason GM designed it this archaic way was for cost reduction. The front, and rear suspension travel are pathetic. Check RTI scores for both!

  • Eh, the Rubicon STILL has leafs in the rear. It may still have leafs in the front, too. I'm pretty sure my buddy's Rubi has leafs up front, but I've never looked closely.

    As for teh H3's weight at around 4,700, that's only 200 or 300 pounds heavier then an FJ Cruiser.

    If there's one thing I don't care for with the H3, it's the torsion bar front end. But it's not a massive, unstoppable hurtle, especially for the stock truck. It'll still go anywhere you point it. Leveling is a bitch, tho!

  • Eh, I think you buddy is putting Rubicon Stickers on a 1990 YJ Wrangler (Rectangular headlights). Both the TJ Wrangler and the current JK Wrangler have always used coil springs all the way around. Don't trust me, look it up for yourself.

  • my family just bought one, the alpha version and it is awesome!!! we were not looking for a truck really economical. we traded up from the original h3's, and look really bad compared to the new h3 t's. The new truck is 1000% better
