i can only imagine how hard it is to play that slow... and get that much sustain out of your guitar. thats talent. barely listenable the first 25 times, however, it is talent. shits painstaking, but not too bad once you learn to slow down your thought proccess to fit the tempo

But when Sunn O))) covers a song, they're only covering it by the basic song structure and tempo shifts, rather than cover the song how it normally is. This is the kind of unexpected cover that I think is only rivaled by The Residents' rendition of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction." But more to the point, this is infinitely better than the original. Yes, I'm a fanboy for this kind of thing. But Metallica's music...it was sort of "harmlessly" thrashy. Music is opinionated. Just because some music doesn't take talent (ie. Mainstream) doesn't mean it's shit. Some people find this relaxing like myself and I enjoy listening to it. Yes, it is also still considered music because of how music is basically vibrating sound, this is vibrating sound.
Sunn O))) is a band most people wont like because some people don't enjoy the sound of a refrigerator running but for some people it's amazing.
@duffmasterofpuppets this would be a drone metal song. It actually does take skill to get the correct tones for this droning sound, and to layer everything properly. This isn't just thrown together haphazardly.

FWTBT is an interpretation of Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls. While the band did try to follow the original structure and riffing of the song, the intent was not to copy the original, but to rewrite the song for themselves.

Its only real metal element is the strong use of distorted, low-tuned guitars, though on rare occasions there are some rasped vocals. I would put this in the drone/ambient category, with doom metal influence.
They are weird. I felt like you too at first though, it really is an acquired taste. It's an art form I guess, you could think of it as. A lot of art people would consider is just splashes of random colors. To each their own. One mans trash is anothers treasure.

I haven't actually heard or read anything that said cliff was actually thrown out of the window as opposed to crushed under the roof or thrown against the wall where he died of blunt force trauma or killed by broken glass or the million other things that could have happened with this accident.

I regularly listen to 'White 2' and I used to listen to 'Black One' every day before getting into bed. I have not yet had the pleasure of seeing them live...

FWTBT is an interpretation of Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls. While the band did try to follow the original structure and riffing of the song, the intent was not to copy the original, but to rewrite the song for themselves.

Its only real metal element is the strong use of distorted, low-tuned guitars, though on rare occasions there are some rasped vocals. I would put this in the drone/ambient category, with doom metal influence.

Why do I keep seeing Slipknot fans makes fools on them selves on other videos? Why don't people just shut up and only comment on videos of bands they like? I do like Slipknot, though not that much anymore, but they're not the best band in the world and I knwo they've got a bad reputation amongst other metal fans, but I'm trying to get into this band, so really I only want to hear praise otherwise I'm going to be put off and might miss out on some great music.
