BUT the Mgr is & Was an IDIOT for Not Knowing that Coupons are for Each Item .... Evidently He DON'T Know the Store Coupon Policy ... Anyways thx 4 Sharing this Vid

Yeah I went to Family Dollar yesterday and the cashier said they just got a memo that they cannot honor a coupon that the consumer will end up getting the item for free i.e. the covergirl products..I was like WTF...okay. They get the money back anyways!! HENCE I am not shopping there anymore.

  • @a2dabeatriz1 That happened to me too, so I went home printed out the coupon policy and highlighted the part that says they will accept a coupon that makes an item free! They took it after that but she wasn't happy

Dollar tree was totally not ready for this we got hit big with a bunch of people couponing so my manager freaked out and thought this was a huge scam so that is why they told us to not accept them but them he told his manager but sir we were on that show and now you don't want us to accept coupons? so it took someone to call corp office and they told them to accept any and how many coupons.. so he tells me feel

  • I am sorry to hear you had such bad experience.. I wanted to share with you mine.. I went today and there were no other customer's just me and there was a cashier ( before I went I called to see if they had any scrubbing bubbles so that I would not waist gas lol) Before I went to get them ( 6 of them) I told the cashier oh I have these 1.00 coupons that I want to use for the 1.00 cover girl items, she said oh you know there has been problems with the system not wanting to take them but let me ..

  • Greg you are so right. If you are right, you are right to stand your ground. I had a similar issue at WalMart to night when my White Cloud whould not scan. After several attempt and discussion with the cashier I just let the 2 package of toilet tissue there. I was about to leave but then seen the CSM and when to her to explained what happen. She proceeded to another register and the two internet coupons worked, I was like WOW. I calmly explained to the CSM that some changes need to be made

  • The reason they beep is due to the register rings them up as a tool and not a cover girl tool. I had my cashier tell me that i needed to get what was on the picture. Then the next store told me thats stealing when you get free items. they both put me in a bad mood.

  • I had the same issue today with the store mgr, the security came on the speaker and  asked the manager and cashier if they were ok, The mgr was horrible!! I did get a little loud because she was telling me I was holding up her line for some coupons, I told her I am not the one holding up the line you are...I was totally right, she was wrong. I find it very upsetting we have to deal with managers like this. She was very rude right from the start cause she had to get up from her chair.

  • The good thing about the PG coupon limit is when the cashier says that you can only use one I always say but its a limit of 4. I had the same type of issues at FD today. The manager was so nasty but she said I'm not going to hold up my line just for coupons. She ended up calling her DM and I got my Cover Girl and some Scrubbing Bubbles. lol

  • i know you're upset with family dollar but starting 1/29 the old spice body wash will be 2 for 6. I have a bunch of $2 mq's left so i'll probably going their to stock up for my friends and family before the coupon expires.

  • Wow I'm at a loss for words. But yes I found that camera thing annoying, "we are watching you....., cashiers are you OK?" & they actually have to respond. But it works for the customer as well, so I guess it's a good thing. That, "don't get smart with me", hmmmm I'd have to follow up with Debbie on that.

  • Good for you telling him that you are the reason he has a job! He works for you!!!!! I ran into this at the Movie Theater last night. What a jerk, but kudos to the DM for trying to resolve it. Don't you love people that "love" their jobs? He deserves to be fired.If I acted like he did, for one second, at my job, I would be unemployed.

  • Okay I just got off the phone with the District Manager who was very apologetic and told me that he'd have the manager of the store call me and they would take my coupons. He was very nice and he did say they needed to do more training to make their staff more aware of the coupons policy because coupons are getting to be big business. So I'm happy but not happy that I have to go back there, it's out of my way but I'll make the best of it.

  • Finally did the covergirl deal with buy 2 get $2.50 at family dollar it took going to store number 3 and a older cashier who knew what she was doing to work. And yes i had a talk with debbie also

    she said these coupons are good.

  • I went today and got mine! Thank goodness my trip wasn't that bad. The only problem I had was the cashier didn't know how to put the coupons in. She called the manager up and he explained to her how to do it. They were both really nice. It did take her a long time to manually put the couons in.

  • i would have just broken it up into all those little bitty 1 dollar purchases and handed them the 1 coupon per transaction....but you did much better with calling the district manager...and your right, i did get intimidated by that manager at walgreens that time...omg that was horrible!!!...so thank you for the idea!!! sending you a biggg hug!.......Lady.

  • I think we all had the same problem with the CG coupons at Family Dollar. I also contacted corporate and printed out the email response back from Brittney Householder, Marketing Coordinator, and will be taking this with me when I go back there, that way I have it in my hand to show her just how wrong she was. I can't wait to slam their facebook page and hopefully put an end to this Family Dollar bull.

If these companies don't want to deal with couponers, than stop accepting coupons! simple as thatA while back a cashier said to me "you getting those for free"? I said yes, but don't worry, the manufacturer will reimburse the store and then the store will give you your he stock share", she just looked at me...

  • Greg, well...calling the district mgr must be paying off for the rest of us! I woke up this morning and said I'm going to go get me so Covergirl tools from Dollar General! Got to the register and laid my 4 products down; the cashier said "these arn't going to ring up, so I'm going to have to manually key them in"....I said ok...she entered them, and then said "have a great day"..Wow no drama at all. I'm going back tomorrow and get some more since these coupons expire 1/31! Thanks!

  • OOoohhh... I wish I would have watched this video yesterday before my trip to CVS. They wouldn't let me us all of my ECB's yesterday!!! They said I could only use the ECB that were associated with the CVS Care Card I was using for that transaction. WT*BEEP??? Next time I will ask for his District Managers number...

  • @galecrafts hey Gale honey on this they are actually right. CVS's policy is that is has to be the same card that generated the ecb, riteaid you can use any rr on whatever card you get but for cvs the system won't allow it. love your guts

  • Same thing happened to me on Tuesday with the same coupon... told me that I could only use it on the pictured item on the coupon and that the other stores were wrong for allowing me to use it on other items... avoiding the wording on the coupon.....long story short they hire uneducated, unprofessional people.....I refuse to shop there any longer.....anytime I'm ready to fight and be prepared for the cops to come I need not shop there any longer....

  • Greg, I had the SAME ISSUE, but I sent an email to corporate! I got a really nice email back letting me know that it was okay to use the covergirl coupons! I brought the email in and had NO problems! (First time I went in, I walked out b/c they werent having it!) So glad you got it taking care of!

  • Greg, I know exactly how you feel. I had my first run-in at Walmart the other day. Next time, I will stand my ground and go up the chain of command. Thanks for sharing man 'cause I know this is going to happen again. I had to call corporate and will probably call today. If not, I'm going to just go back in there...and if they give me trouble I will either do what you did or get corporate on the phone right then and there.

  • @puregroove I called corporate while I was at walmart. They didn't want me to use my printed coupons, talking about they have had alot of fraud. I understand that, but it was a freaking 2 dollar off coupon that I got off of facebook. Corporate called the store and a salaried manager came talked to me and accepted the coupons and said he didn't no why the cashier didn't accept them. A few days later the store manager called, gave me a 10.00 gift card and her personal office number.

  • Family Dollar is a pain to shop in when it comes to coupons. I went in for the scrubbing bubbles got 2 and everything was fine both coupons took but she calls a manager anyway. Saying to him "I just want you to see what I'm doing in case they come back" seriously?!? Geez!

  • It's interesting with us guys couponing for makeup and all these cosmetics I swear I get all the funny looks like I'm stealing or something...I understand where you're coming from, I probably get slack about a coupon 8 out of 10 times always having to educate the cashiers time to time

  • Thank you for doing this video with the additional advise that you added in for female shoppers. I would have been intimidated by his behavior. And having your kids with you... That's too much! A customer should never be put in a situation where they feel they have to defend themselves or feel intimidated in anyway. Maybe sensitivity to women and respect overall can be another issue that couponers united can address. I love and respect your videos. Thanks again Greg.

When did one per PURCHASE become one per TRANSACTION.my coupons beep all the time at walgreens..they punch them in manually they don't start questioning me..I have never had these issues at my stores ..I don't think anybody really gives a damn lol but If I KNOW im right I'm fighting for it cus thats my personality lol

  • I had them flipping out over the $2.50/2 cover girl coupon. She said I can't make an item free. What!? She is lucky I didn't whip out the $1/1 coupons. I had to make the suggestion that she make one .01 and the other one .24. I so should have said oh wait one minute I forgot to get something and brought one of those $1 items over.

  • I had to almost pull a flacarfter today at CVS, I say almost cause when she saw me pull out my phone she knew what was gettin ready to go down. Woman had a fit cause I was returning 6 boxes of recalled excedrin! She first told me to come back when her boss was there, I said I ain't got time time to be runnin up and down these roads! I got my $37! ;) I wasn't takin no junk!

  • I so feel ya on this "One per purchase" issue. If I have to explain one more time, I'm going to scream. They just don't get it or maybe they do and they are just trying to play people who don't know the rules to couponing. No you were not going to remodel the store.....now that's some funny stuff.

  • I have another technique. I know by now which Wags and CVS's give me an easy time vs. hard time. I start at the easy stores. Then, when someone gives me a problem at the harder stores I just whip out my receipts and say "Well I was able to do this with no problem at X, Y and Z locations. Would it help to see my receipt?" Sometimes that's enough of a push. The only time I don't go for the jugular is when I know it's not in the policy, i.e. overage at certain places. Sometimes you have to bail.

  • Ugh I went to mine today too and had the same problems. Lucky for them I had to go pick my nephew up from school but I called the family dollar corporate and the lady said she would call the store and tell them to accept them. Tomorrow I will go back and I better get my cover girl stuff!

  • I went a second time use my $1 cover girl coupon and she oh this is really not a cover girl item it's a queen l. Item I was like whatever and walked out because I didn't want to argue. So I think I might try again tomorrow.
