The "where's your hat?" line is so subtle and perfect. I remember very little about the first time I saw this in the theater when I was 4 with my parents but that line breaking the dramatic build and my parents laughing (along with the audience) sticks in my head. Since then I've seen the movie hundreds of times but that is one early memory, along with the "cut me Mick" and the audience groaning. People thought my parents were irresponsible for taking me to see this at 4 but seems tame today...

1.Rocky (1976) One of the greatest movies of all-time. Brilliant ending!

2.Rocky IV (1985) Best Villain and Death of Apollo!

3.Rocky III (1982) Could be 2nd best of series. Contains maybe the best single scene (aside from round 14): Clubber confronting Rocky at statue.

4.Rocky II (1979) Good Sequel. A little slow moving, but a rare good sequel.

5.Rocky V (1990) Forgettable. Director’s cut fight scene at the end is better than the released version.

6.Rocky Balboa (2006) Why even make this?

I hate to disagree, and almost didn't even bother writing this, so please don't take offense. I believe that the best thing that could've happened to this francise would've been for Rocky to have been a sleeper or cult film after which Stallone refused all requests for a sequel until 2006 when he released Rocky Balboa (which I believe would've been a better film under those circumstances).

It's wasn't about boxing so much as it was about a man struggling for legitimacy, a woman doing the same and, end the end, Apollo Creed realizing that he was up against a man who was fighting for more than just a belt and a title. He looked at Balboa like, "Damn man, what's wih you. Stay down. Are you trying to kill me or what?"
