I second that I would love to hear "Slaves and Bulldozers"...man, I've been listening to this for nearly 20 years (holy shit is it that old!?) and still get lifted - practically levitated - every time I hear it! His vocals are stunning... I've done some recording and can fully appreaciate what it takes to get that across....I only wish someone could pull the dry track right out of the vocal booth, before the effects.
to all the auto tuning posers out there, yes you Kanye! This is real singing, you have to live it and breathe it just to get anywhere near this, this is extreme! I`ll never sing like Chris but he inspires me to make the most of what i`ve got.
Such a legend. I remember his answer to a question about how he got his voice like "that". He said something like, "Well I kept trying in the studio to scream but the next time I did it there'd be a note there so I just kinda went with it over they years".
Probably the only grunge singer that didn't need tons of reverb, his own voice was just that fucking powerful (unfortunately live it didn't really work out that well at least the time's I've seen him)
