last time I check "their" is a possesive pronoun often used with an indefinite third person singular antecedent. While "there" on the other hand is an adjective. You're correct in saying that "there" was once used as a pronoun, but that hasn't happened since the 12th century, you know during Middle English, before English spelling standardization in the 19th century.
