@RhodiesNeverDie They certainly are. Most were moved from temporary cemetaries scattered all over this part of France and re-buried here after the war.
Ted, as always an awesome video. Never seen a "Tobruk pit before" - I'm used to the mg assistant being right next to the gunner to help with reloading/barrel change, but I can see how such a small opening would minimize exposure of those in the bunker from indirect fire.
Am I the only one bothered by the people laughing in a cemetery where so many people who died over such a short time are buried? I am not religious or spiritual in the slightest but show some damn respect.
@camerl2009 Yes and thanks to "Overlord" (and Steven Spielberg), also a lot of mony is flooding into the Normandie until today. So I'm sure they are thankful.
My ''propos'' was not meant as derogatory and clearly indicated my awe for the individual being pointed out. Being 1/8 Irish, I'll partake in 1/8 of what the defamation case brings in.
p.s. Clearly, someone as astute as yourself, can denote a typing error.
p.p.s. That being said; one should always re-read before posting, thanks
@groundzero94 Some are closed off but many are...surprisingly...open for tourists. In the US the lawyers would have it ALL blocked off. Note that there're no guard rails along the bomb craters either!
thanks ted....again never somthing i would ever been able to see...really thank you!
