  • This makes me laugh every time, how is it anti american ? They just wanted a counter balance.

  • Anti-american superstate, for fuck sake. This only reveals how naive american media is.

  • why do american media insist on putting it like forming a super state to challenge the us or conspiring to counter the us hahaha we are allies dam american media is f@cked

  • i have more in common culturally with americans than with most of europe (im danish). if i couldnt live in scandinavia for some reason, i would be on the first flight to NYC

EU will never be a superstate, we have too little in common with eachother. the difference between a Dane and an Italian, is a lot bigger than someone from Colorado and Oklahoma

  • everything needs to be balanced. there cant be just one superpower and im happy that its Eu rather than china or india.

And i dont hink EU is antiamerican russia is .

  • anti american? whats anti american in a united, peaceful europe? us global leadership!? wait, rewind, what leadership!? have we been "dominated" by the us and we dont know!? "eu leaders want to set their own agenda apart from american policy"?!?!?! isnt it the way it always was, and the way its always suppose to be?! hello!? are the cnn guys even hearing what theyre saying!? if we were now in the 1940s this tv program alone would have been reason to go to war ...... (!?)

  • why anti american ? ... maby a part of us dont like american life style , but we are friends not fo ..

  • Unelected?

    They was all elected.

  • @efg36 nope. EU Commision, who make EU laws, are NOT elected......

  • @LightsEShadows

    the eu parlament elect it

  • @efg36 who ? Barroso ?? He was the only one candidate !!!!!!!

Eu Commission MAKE EU LAWS AND THEY ARE NOT elected by EU people, thats the point. Eu parliament dont make law. This is a heavy reduction and deficit of European democracy, sorry but one must be blind or brianwashed to dont see that... seriuos man, but think about that.

  • @LightsEShadows

the whole comission was voted by the eu-parlament. every comissioner was nominated by the gouvernment of an eu state. the laws have to be certified by the eu states or the eu-parlament (depends on the kind of law).

In the usa the president is a random product of the winner-takes it all principle.

  • @efg36 nope, the Council appoints the 26 Commissioners in agreement with the ( single candidate !!!) nominated President, and then the 27 Commissioners as a single body are subject to a consultative vote by the European Parliament. Peoples dont elect who make their law, EU parliament dont design or elect who make laws. EU commision its just a burocratic self elections. Burocrats are elected by themself... This is a huge democracy reduction.

  • @efg36 In USA President its direct elected by the peoples, same about WHO make laws. And Peoples and Congress have the power to remove them. Eu parliament DONT HAVE ANY REAL POWER, cant make laws, cant remove anyone. This is nazism/sovietism ( its same ). EU its a totalitarian, burocratic regime, just like Soviet Union. I hope dont change itself totally in the new soviet union, but stupid things i listen from EU about markets, are very bad signals...

  • @LightsEShadows

He is not direct elected. He is elected by votesman. The votes of republican californians or democratic texans count nothing.

  • @efg36 they are NOT votesman, but delegatesm there's a HUGE difference. They dont have real power to vote, they just rappresent the peoples will and vote. For example Delegates elected for candidate A cannot vote for B. Its just a rappresentation of vote. Its a very effective way to better rappresent minority. EU system dont rappresent minorities at all...! You need 2/3 of parliament just to knockle on EU commission doors. In democracy you need just one senator to design and present a law.

  • @LightsEShadows and congress can remove even the President, and peoples can remove all of them and elect new one. In EU you cannot do. Little states, or singles ones have not real power, cannot present law, cannot make petition to EU commissions. Same for peoples, you need more then 300.000 signatures for every 3 states at least. This mean that if a law harm a country you cannot do anything. see Greece for example harmed by Euro and UE policy...

    WAKE UP !

  • @LightsEShadows least but not last, Lisbon Treaty force much more to ratify any law designed from non elected EU commission; if not ratified you will punished with fines and EU retaliation. National Parliament dont have real power anymore and for such things you MUST do a referendum. EU its illegal.

  • @LightsEShadows Lisbon Treaty take over Executive, Justice, and Legislative power, and you CANNOT do it without a popular referendum. But hey they already did a referendum for EU Constitution and was REJECTED !!

  • @LightsEShadows

The republicans in california dont have a right to vote.

  • @LightsEShadows

    Your Itanian?

Be happy that their is a eu. Without EU Italy would be another time fashist state. Italy is (after greece) the undemocratist state in the eu. If you are rich or/and if you have the correct friends you can give a shit on the law theire.

  • @efg36 EU destroyed our economy, industry and agricolture, with their idiot marxist and socialists policy I'm not happy at all. Other that EU funds increased corruption, after all their main goal is to corrupt and controll land just like in Soviet Union, so did in Ireland with Vote Fraud, Threat retaliations, corruption ecc.

    Wake up.

  • well it is already anti american.... i wouldnt go so far as to say it would be a superstate.... but god help america if we did turn our anger towards them....

  • rofl, europe will never be an anti american superstate

  • sorry americans, Europe is taking over and is gonna kick your fat asses:)) i thought you wouldn't like it ;>

btw, to NANDOPRO86 (gosh what a stupid nickname) and all you freaking EUskeptics - go home kids, the Treaty has been ratified. it's over, you've lost big BIG time.

And speak for yourself pal - I am "a person of Europe" and I do want the "Superstate"..

and no - it's not a dictatorship - the politicians we've democratically chosen act on our behalf and are there to make such decisions

  • The people of Europe do not want any super state!!!

They have signed a treaty without our consent!!

    This is dictatorship!!

  • Isn't Lou Dobbs the guy that gave credence to the Birthers and the guy that wages a racist rant against illegal immigrants? I don't think anyone takes this nutter seriously.

  • US Global Leadership????????

OMG - how deluded is he:)

  • what a LOAD of BOLLIX - man now I know why the americans are so fucked up on this NWO SITE:) LOL

  • OMG - Americans are really DOOMED with this media crap:)

  • what a LOAD of BOLLIX - man now I know why the americans are so fucked up on this NWO SITE:) LOL

  • Yeah, that's logical. CNN logic, at any rate. Apparently Sarko meets Blair for dinner to offer him the EU Presidency in return for a promise by Blair to "quell U.K. opposition to the Lisbon Treaty." A likely story. Blair, a private citizen, has the power to quell U.K. opposition to the Lisbon deal? My arse, he has.

Wonder what idiot in CNN penned that particular piece of nonsensical copy. Inane.

  • God, Americans are stupid.

  • They got most of it right.

  • worse thing is that its true people in Europe have lost most of their civil rights whit legislation and they are trying to build an forth rich but this time they will have all of Europa collected military capabilities, its all very frightening here in Europa right now, they also want to start an racial registry. so they can wake up certain folk groups in the middle of night to take them to an "safe place".

  • hahahhaha anti-american.. come on..

  • lol, what a dramaqueen, "anti american" superstate????, ofcourse there are some with that sentiment in europe but that doesn't make anti-american, he makes it sound like a new enemy. Anyway this "superstate" will be formed without a civil war, unlike the us. However i agree that it is a shame that most european nations accept it without a (binding) referendum.

  • What's a real shame is the fact that the EU has no understanding of democracy. The USA is a properly democratic nation where the leaders are actually accountable.

  • you are right, there is a democratic deficit in the EU. However calling the US a proper democraic state is going a bit far. You can hardly call a 2 party system democratic. A 2 party system is only one step away from being a one party system.

  • funded by the same ppl, so they are the same virtually

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ok man...you might want to look at what democracy is...basically 51% of people telling the other 49% how to act...The word demo comes from the latin...it means mob. Democracy is mob-rule. And before you put your patriot hat on, America was set up as a republic, not a democracy. The real shame is that you appear to know nothing about how your American leaders are just as much owned by the banks as they are over here...check out the Rothschild family and wake up...

  • You do know that you don't necessarily have to be American to have to point out where there democracy is superior to that of the EU. I'm Irish and the future of the EU is in our hands.

There's no separation of powers in the EU nor are the law-makers elected. These are serious issues yet it's assuming the position of a de-facto superstate.

What's the alternative to democracy? Maybe we'll put you in charge eh.

  • The alternative to democracy is to hand back sovereignty to each individual, and allow them to administer their own affairs...why does anyone need tobe inc harge, are we not created equal? All states are de-facto, have been since 1933 since the world went bankrupt...check it out: Freeman-on-the-land.

  • Lies. The elite is trying to work country against country. You think that American leaders are not in on this? They know exactly what is going on and endorse it. For doing so, they will have a post in the new "under" world order.

Voting NO...especially when this hits Canada, US and Mexico.

  • why would ye do that !! then all the people who died for the freedom of ireland would have died for nothing!! Vote no if you respect the people who died for Ireland and Irelands future generations

  • just joking chara ... theres no way i would vote yes to this treaty but unforunatly there is enough fools who will

  • this is really overboard jounalism, please take it with a grain of salt. cheers to you all merry christmas and happy new yrs

  • yes in this it say britain got a referendum but yhey didnt ireland got 1 and there having another one trying to force use to vote yes

  • this report is so biased and twists the truth!

  • heh so the leaders decide? if it wasn't for us they would't be leaders!

  • what propaganda-whats with the ''conspiracy''?lol

  • Thats totaly out of proportion lol they make it seem like the EU is totaly anti U.S and its only doing it fight off the U.S. However Im against Britain joining the EU.

  • Britain is a member of the EU since 1973.

  • OMFG thats the kind of konservertive shitty news I expect from FOX News what the hell is CNN doing. And the european countries dont hate USA.

  • i am completely against the treaty but this is acutally quite funny

  • Too right it wants to be a counter balance to a psychotic trigger happy american empire! America interacts with other powers as if it was a child, russia is totalitarian, china is a disgrace. The point is to be americas wiser older brother, infact everyone's wiser older brother. At first it institutionalised internal peace, now it is too try intercontinental mediation

  • Absolute bullshit, this Anti-American spin is complete lies. I really hope US people dont buy into this crap. Sensationalist televsion, feeding to radical elements and extreme views. again absolute bullshit!

  • The CNN report reflected much of French thinking which has always resented the Anglo Saxons on both sides of the Atlantic (and elsewhere). Hence the waste in eg the European Space Agency with its old technology Ariane rocket seeking to duplicate GPS. Bearing in mind it was aimed at a US audience I think CNN did a pretty good job. It certainly was right on the anti-democratic stance of the EU leaders.

  • @thejuice2003 There was a person in favor of the treaty that made a statement about balancing america's power and influence, I think he was from Germany or Poland. Though it is true that most europeans aren't anti-american, there is a sentiment, although not anti-american per se, that they want to be able to counterbalance american power.

  • I'm as much against the Lisbon treaty as anyway, but this is ridiculous.

CNN makes it sound as if the EU was only founded to attack America. The most ridiculous notion ever. And it looks like CNN thinks that Americans have a right at world dominance, and any other superpower is per definition evil. A strange notion. And stupid.

  • /watch?v=M6QmH-7fu68

  • i was no on the lisbon but this is a bit ridiculous the way they go on about it like its some terror plot to take over the world

"european leaders are conspiering" ok lady whatever you say

  • "Comparing the US to the EU is simply comparing one tyranny with another."

    PRECISELY.

  • Also I don't like the way CNN constantly refer to the EU as "Europe". Get the terminology right!

  • I wouldn't quite say the Lisbon EU Superstate would be "anti-American". Rather it's much more likely to be complementary.

If Dobbs is going to say that it's "anti-American" he should substantiate the point properly.

Or maybe CNN are just putting the whole Constitution in terms of America to simplify things for its American viewers. Kind of pathetic and dumb, but hey, that's the Communist News Network for you.

  • Looks like a resounding NO to Lisbon...excellent....let the party begin!

  • It seems the American media is quite informative when it comes to the superstate saga on ther other side of the pond.

Comparing the US to the EU is simply comparing one tyranny with another.

Watch my videos for a taste of EU totalitarianism.
