I thought jailbreaking was bad for your phone when apple updates the firmware. Could I mess up my phone if I do the jailbreak wrong? Can I still connect my phone to iTunes? Can I update my phone when apple comes out with new firmware?

well you can't really mess it up permanently, you can just restore if something goes wrong.you still connect to itunes, you just cannot update your phone until the dev team comes out with a new jb..usually 2-3 days after a firmware release. it does void your warranty while its j/b, but you can do a full restore and all signs of that are reversed, so your warranty is still in affect.
