If I was in the forest here, I'd probably rather be a park ranger. Or maybe a job involved with wildlife. But there are a lot of forests and parks out here.
I like the Oregon coast range a lot, and recently spent much time in the north California redwoods. Google this:

The advice I might add, deals with where you might live. If you worked in forests near small towns like Arcata California, the type of crowd is different than say San Francisco, or Seattle. Arcata reminds me of the "surfer dude" - "vegetarian diet" people. Trinidad California seems a bit odd and the resources are scarce.
Crescent City has a huge, huge prison if that says anything. Consider residing within 45 minutes of Seattle, Portland, Eugene.
Would love to work there, i am a forester from the uk , whats the job situation like there?

In short - the cultures vary town to town much.

lol makes you wonder doesnt it , i found out that the British used 75 acres of oak trees to build their ships many years ago , thats horrendous.
