  • WOAH!!! 1942 Superman. He could destroy Goku. Superman.

  • Press f5 to skip the add.

  • it seems that these cartoons are made by the same team who created the oldschool tom and jerry...as the cartooning looks very similar....

  • I like the part about where he has Lois Lane seated, and when she sits down, the scientist hits a button on the seat and straps her wrists, forearms and ankles into the seat, so she could not escape.

  • The use of light and shadow and the level of detail, amazing. This was done by hand (rotoscoped or not).

    Wow.

  • BEST ANIMATED CARTOONS EVER!!

  • Where's Jimmy?

  • hei s drunk as fuck

  • @FireStormBaller, Jimmy wasn't in these cartoons, because he wasn't a well known character yet.

  • @Superfan402 Not true. Jimmy was very well known before this cartoon in the comics.

  • Superman is the Best!!

  • good job on voices/sounds being out of sync jackass

  • I saw this cartoons on some Russian channel yesterday, maan it sure is kinda classic. Very interesting cartoon to watch.

  • 1) Native American mad scientist - first time I've ever seen one.

    2) He takes off his hat politely when he gets into his private elevator with Lois.

    3) He conveniently has a viewing seat with automatic bondage straps installed in his Oz-like control room.

    4) The Daily Planet manages to put out its usual edition despite the building having an immense crack nearly to its top floor.

    5) Manhattan immediately returns to normalcy despite mass destruction...compare to the real-life Sept. 11...

  • what do u expect from a cartoon made in 1942 when the war was upon the whole world

  • Wow, I had no idea that Superman had its own cartoon in the 40s, much less any superhero cartoon! This is so entertaining; it is OK that I like this?

  • Well, Hasn't anybody heard of Nicola Tesla and his very real Death Ray??? Or HAARP at Gakona Alaska today?

    dolphin

  • Does't anyone think this is kind of prophetic? Ever heared of Tesla?

  • One of my friends said that Tesla sort of makes a guest appearance as a mad scientist in one of these cartoons.

Could be wrong though...but some of his inventions blow anything we have TO THIS DAY right off the map.

  • Check out mechanical monsters the Dude with the mostach is Tesla. If you see the Tesla movie the guy in it looks exactly like this guy. I would have to disagree on the inventions side. All Tesla discoverys have been militarised. Check out drjudywood{dot}com and see how the twin towers was disintergrated.. Or perhaps don't it is the start of a very scary awakening.

  • You can't really blame Tesla for the militarised thing, the US used his theroies or patants as launching pads for weapons mostly after he died and they took all his papers. The only thing he willingly offered to the US as a "Weapon" was a robotic submarine. Which they turned down by the way.

And no offence but I'm not into the whole consperacy theroy thing...I've got my opinion and I respect yours for the facts you have.

  • Dr.Bernard Eastlund took out patents resembling teslas shield and death ray and from that came HAARP. HAARP could be the real cause of global warming. Ask only what is HAARP. What could it do. But don't get into it to much it can really bring you down. Tesla was more than a genius if he had been listened to the 20 th century would have been completely different. There is lots of great stuff on Tessla on youtube including a very lame film with Orson Wells as J.P.Morgan. It is well worth watching!

  • lol I'd shake your hand if I could, you're only the SECOND person I know that has so much knowledge of Tesla.

My friend and I are major Tesla nuts, he plans on building his own Tesla inspiered electric car.

And to gas lovers out there, believe me you're wasting your time on that outdated fuel.

  • Have you thought of building the tower. That would be fantastic. Oh I am excited now. Free energy has to be the thing. You must watch the Tesla film it shows how he was discredited by J.P.Morgan because he saw he could not make any money out of free energy. Tesla was right about to prove his theory when Morgan pulled the plug on him. In this is a hell of a lot of darknes. I too would like to shake your hand and I hope you do it. The future is yours Dude.

  • My friend wants to build a tower actually. And I know what you mean, if it hadn't been for Morgan (and lets not forget Edison and his elephant Topsy) today's technology would be a whole lot different.

Unfortunatly very few know of that (or the fact Tesla is the father of modern robtics, radar detection, and even the radio)

  • YOU REALLY ARE INFORMED. FAR OUT. ANY FRIEND OF TESLA IS A FRIEND OF MINE. Can you imagine what the world would be like where it not for these people and there insatiable greed. I am like ancient and as a boy longed for the world promised in these fantastic Animations. I could not figure out why it did not happen . Now I know why. They want it all for themselves.

  • By the way The Fliesher Brothers totaly rule. I love this stuff and have quite a big collection. I love the way they depicted the future back then. I wish Superman was around now.

  • The voices in this cartoon are the same actors who did the radio show. Awesome!

  • I love this stuff. But back in the day I think this is kinda racist.

  • I'm using this vid in one of mine.

  • These cartoons are so much better that what we have today. Hand drawn and everything. And the detail is great.

    Thanks for posting this,

  • Absolutely wonderful. They are masterpieces. You don't see stuff like this anymore.

  • Agreed. This is a masterpiece. New cartoons are crap.

  • i haven't seen the old cartoons in years, but watching it now i'm amazed at the quality of the animation myself! especially for a 40's short cartoon!

  • I definitely agree, the quality of the animation is better than most of the cartoons seen nowadays.

  • Something had to be said for the old superman cartoons they were way ahead of their time for animation in general.
