never thought they would reunite ever, but we got lucky. REAL lucky, because their new stuff rocks too, so it's not just a big nostalgia trip for us old farts. it's incredible that they can still be creative after all the time spent apart. they didn't sell out, they are men of integrity
I'm reading the book right now, and I would guess that this is before they truly integrated that into their live show. This looks like it was filmed at very small club that might not have had the capability of supporting those kind of effects.
@TEMPmichaelhansen I know fuck, he described these guys like they were noisy as fuck, but this sounds like plain old punk (nothing wrong with that, just sayin)
@Alienpelvis86 They were sort of the odd band out in that book, almost all of the rest discussed were mid to late-'80s, but Mission of Burma goes back to the late '70s. From what I remember, their whole chapter just harps on about what a shame it was that Mission of Burma started and ended so early in the burgeoning post-punk scene.
@askl23 A lot of the best post punk was from the late 70s and early 80s. Just start with Gang of Four, Wire, Joy Division, Minutemen, The Sound and look at people they played with and you'll find a ton of bands.
@ryanarchy422 - Thanks for mentioning The Sound. Incredible band that really doesn't seem to get enough recognition. You should check out Fingerprintz too if you haven't already. Cheers!
Roger Miller looks like he's 15 here yet he was about 28 or 29. Hard to believe he had Sproton Layer ten whole years earlier. He was the bassist with his brothers and his bass playing was pretty advanced as Clint is here.

As this clip proves, Mission was laying the foundation for Alternative and beyond before punk rock had run its course.

It's amazing to think that this was the first song Clint Conley ever wrote. So very good.
