nah.... I'm sure Whiteman played this at different tempos than his recorded versions at concertsand dances. [Gershwin complained at the 1927 recording session that the Rhapsody In Blue was faster than the 1924 version.]..Also: listen to Ellington's "Cotton Club Stomp" in the 1929 film Black And Tan Fantasy. Much faster than any version he did on 78 !
