I'm not surprised that most male superdelegates will vote for Obama. This is all about sexism, and there're men out there who're worried about a woman becoming the president. What are they be afraid of? Give Hillary a chance to prove that she's more capable of doing the job. She has the backing of millions of voters. Don't their voices count? The DNC reminds us of the government of Zimbabwe who's as corrupted as you can get. Something is fishy & the voters will not let this pass so easily.
Its simple, you are the Democratic party, just look at the candidate with the highest vote count. So simple. Unless you are in the UNDEMOCRATIC PARTY or a FREEMASON like Hillary !!
Many of the superdelegates who could well decide the Democratic presidential nominee have already been plied with campaign contributions by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton
Having Super Delegates mean that the people do not really get to choose. The popular civil vote will go to Obama but Hillary will win because of super delegates. That's mission accomplished for the crooked bastard lobbyists.
I hate superdelegats. Really, hate. But if they vote, I want them to do a majority vote behind the majority candidate of the time and end the thing and the Dems can start to come together and get it together. If they DARE to go against the elected delegate count? Just put they Repubs in office now. Because it will all be over for the Dems. Regardless of the candidate, the party will be disarray.
King of reminds you that at one time CONGRESSMEN.... and not mere citizens....PICKED the PRESIDENT AND THE VICE-PRESIDENT.... My how times have changed....how times are...THE SAME, with reguard to "mere citizens", and their input in Party Politics... :)
Yeah that is the sad thing. People are getting more involved in elections now so they are learning about how corrupt it really is. Super delegates are kinda bullshit. It shows that Hillary will probably win because she is the party favorite.
When John McCain left the Tiger Cage in 'Nam, McCain was convinced the NVs implanted a tiny Tiger Cage in his brain with a live tiger inside. Well, subliminally the cage has always stayed with him, and at some point, the lock on that cage door rusted through, the tiger broke free, and now it's eating McCain's brain.
My guess is that Super delegate assignment was designed to give all these party hacks a reason to attend the convention. Most years it is sealed up by now and they are meaningless. I also assume that they are not stupid enough to destroy their gravy train and go against the popular/delegate result for fear of the destruction of the party and their 14 weeks before the election.
The superdelegates should just shut up and go with whoever the people elect. They're not helping their cause in the general election if they choose otherwise. The whole institution is undemocratic to begin with.
Bush (Enron, Abramoff, DeLay, Haggard, L. Craig, torture, wiretapping, Gonzalez, Brownie, Blackwater, et al...) destroyed your once proud GOP. Deal with it. Democrats now own the mantle of "the party of ideas."
Those snobby super-delegates better not flip this election against the will of the american people! If they do flip it, lets posse up and pay them personal visits.
Most of these people will be swayed by the powerful interest In the Democratic party, like unions and labor. Some of them will be swayed by Bill Clinton or Ted Kennedy and other top dogs. Bust most will wait till someone has a lead, and go with them. We will know a lot more March 4th.
don't worry "liberalsarebraindead" both obama and clinton will put more money into special education and retarded children's services so you can be cared for.
super delegates = more brownie points for rewarding the most deeply entrenched political machinery powered by money, oil, lobbyists, brands, Corporations & special interests.
OBAMA's Campaign: desperate old ladies sending dollar bills and kids holding fundraisers. They see right through Hillary's tears and Bill's jeers. Deep wisdom lurks here.
I'll be highly pissed if party hacks swing this one to Hillary. Mainly, because I dread seeing her smile for 4-8 years. Does anyone else have a bad physical reaction to photos of her smiling? I'm being shallow, but is anyone with me on this? Its uncanny and uncomfortable.
When I heard her proposal to mandate people purchase health insurance, I imagined insurance execs high fiving over goblets made of gold, thinking of ways to structure the contracts to deny coverage in what would be a new, cheaper, minimum coverage policy. My first question was "how in the hell do you enforce that bit of business?"
everything she says, some cigar smokin cognac sippin' golf playin' mogul somewhere is high fivin' some other such president, chairman, or executive, all of whom pretend to be these great advocates of minorities civil rights. As Bush himself once said, Money Trumps Peace sometimes. And so it goes with the Clintons. tragic.
That smile betrays what's underneath: the main force driving her campaign is "ambition". It's about her. She cries every Monday before an election not bc she feels your pain, but bc she might not win. She is Tracey Flick. /watch?v=rleUPHX8yfM
It's not her smile. For me, it's the policies she advocates AND the fact that a term-limited president's spouse can even run. That's a little bit too much like a Dynasty. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton-(Bush?)
You wrote: "while they are in the White House," which means that First Lady Mrs Laura Festus Bush would not be able to run for President during the present campaign.
Yep. That would go for anyone. We don't need dynasties here. I don't even like the idea of another family member (like a son or daughter of a former president) being able to hold the office.
I've been saying the same thing since she entered the race. I'm sure if they had foreseen this kind of situation when establishng term limits they would have included it.
I think that is quite possibly the most ignorant thing I have ever read. I am not even a democrat and believe that statement is a joke. The fact that she was married to a president has no relevance to whether or not she will be a good president. That statement proved nothing more than the fact you have no idea what you're talking about.

Seems like a brokered convention is likely then. I foresee Hillary strong-arming super-delegates to go her way, and the voice of the people -- the regular delegates that Barack won -- will be trampled. Hillary will only win in another stolen election just like in 2000. This could be a bitter & divisive couple of months.
Correction: Obama will win despite Hillary's potential power-brokering. Just read on Politico that the states over the next month strongly favor Barack: Caucuses in WA, NE, ME, and then DC, MD & VA, which should be huge wins for Barack. Then HI, his home state. OH and PA finish it off I think. By that time, Obama will have so much visibility and momentum, and money, and great press, that he should take those strong Hillary states as well. Final nail in her political coffin.
Thank you for explaining this. I don't see why a vote just isn't a vote counting for ONE vote rather than a super vote/delegate/whatever. How's your delegates? They're SUPER thanks for asking!
So , basically our votes are pretty useless - the system is so flawed !

You can buy superdelegate votes...
Just invite them to a teaparty and then throw them promises.
"If I become president I'll make sure you get some of this and that..."
Or some superdelegates are family friends of president candidates. We're voting over policies not personal relations.
Should just let the people decide. Superdelegates should either stand aside or be proportional to actual votes.

Sad thing is that I'll vote for her if she's the Dem. candidate. Hell, I campaigned for Kerry in 2004, because Bush sucks.
