  • Miss Finland deserved the crown. Philipines should have been the first runner-up. Miss Sweden shouldn't even be among the semi-finalists, she is so plain and her face reminds me of a breed of a dog.

  • lol @ 5:12

  • it's very clear that miss sweden was the crowd favorite....

but if your going to analyze all questions for miss phils sweden and usa, are the kind of simple, shallow questions which have direct answers.. example for phils it's right that d judges made an impact for her to win, sweden she's going 2 take d president somewhere where she thinks is d best place in her town... and usa that she thinks d most fun is dancing.... unlike d other 2 Q that are a bit serious so needs a serious answer aswell

  • well among the 5 finalists ..i think MISS PHILIPPINES is the most stunning..did u see those smile with perfect set of teeth???

  • @zn4047: still has that perfect smile to date. met her last november. very kind and still beautiful.

  • oh pleaaaase, just get 2 the fucking POINT IN ONE OR ANOTHER VERSION OF THIS!! It's like just south american miss universe fantasts wanting to show ANYTHING apart from the one that really won..can anyone START this off with just showing the 4 runners up directly and the winner without all the -coffe plantation box thingie??

  • gorgeous Ann Marie miss universe 1975, congratulations miss Haiti too.

  • Very lackluster victory for Finland. It should have been Haiti.

  • @torerongpinoy You should see her today, still beautiful in her looks and manners. The most beloved of our beauty queens and she really deserved to be crowned back then. A classic beauty, a bit like Grace Kelly. BTW, does Pinoy have stg to do with the Philippines? The very first Miss Universe Armi Kuusela in 1952 from Finland got married with a Phillipino business man Gil Hilario. But now, try to google Anne Pohtamo and be mighty surprised for her beauty even today!

  • beautiful ANN MARIE POHTAMO,Miss Universe 1975

  • miss haiti looks like a gorilla.

  • @GolcondaIndia miss Haiti is beautiful too.

  • @GolcondaIndia YOU SHOULD KNOW. YA MAMA WAS A GORILLA!

  • @TheCounslor someone you love will die within 7 days unless you eat 32 grams of dog's poop & spread the words that miss haiti 75 & your mother, yourself & your family are gorillas!!!

  • @GolcondaIndia You right she does, however that gorilla made it where your mom could ever dreamed of...so i guess sometimes its better to look like a gorillla than your mom... thanks for not showing her..take care...

  • @GolcondaIndia And you look like an ass eating, AIDS-infected whore!

  • miss universe 1973 amparo munoz

    is not here

  • The participants seem so unsure, almost frightened; some slouch and many of them look at the ground as they walk. What a difference to the confident stage-owning participants of today! Progress?

    Miss Finland is absolutely lovely.

  • Mabuhay!

  • FOR THE FANS OF MISS HAITI... In 1977,Haiti's Francoise Elie went to Santo domingo, the Dominican Republic, the capital city of Miss Universe 1977. During her interview with journalists she said that "Rosalynn Carter, First Lady of the USA, (1977-1981) is the most important person in the world".

  • According to a computer, Miss Bolivia, Jackeline Gamarra Skeff, was the favorite until the last second...unfortunately she did not qualify...

  • She was Miss Guatemala.During this contest, Haiti's Gerthie David was supported by two international judges:Sarah Vaughan, a black singer, and Jean Claude Killy, an Olympic champion at the 1968 Winner Games and today a famous Olympic leader (member of the International Olympic Committee).Ironically Haiti did not send a national delegate to the next Miss Universe in Victoria City, Hong Kong.

  • 1. Carmen Elena Figueroa (El Salvador) 2.Martha Lucia Echeverry (Colombia) 3.Summer Bartholomew (USA) 4.oRITT cOOPER (Israel) 5.Maritza Pinedo (Venezuela) 6.Lourdes Berninzon (Peru) 7.Emmy Abascal 8.Anina Horta Torrijos (Panama) 9.Consuelo Martin Lopez (Spain) 10.Marie Terese Manderschied (Luxembourg) 11.Gerythie David (Haiti)
  • Thanks. Only five of the favorites made it. It's great to see Luxembourg in the list. Surprised not to see Finland & Sweden. What country did Miss Abascal represent?

  • AND BEAUTIFUL MISS UNIVERSUM YOU ARE

  • In my archives I discovered the following: On July 18 , 1975, Gertyhie David was one of the 11 favorites by the El Diario Hoy (Salvadoran Newspaper)...will continue

  • Really? Thanks for the info. I would like to know who the other favorites were.

  • I'm a specialist on Haitian affairs-from sports to beaty pageant.

  • Many thanks for your comment.

  • In 1983 Port-au-Prince hosted the Miss Maja International, where Miss Haiti, Rachelle Scoott was runner-up. Years later, Sofia Gilloid, who worked in a Haitian Ambassy in Europe, gained the Miss Maja International trophy in Las Palmas (Canary Islands, Spain). This Haitian is very beautiful

  • Today Gerthie David is a sculptor and lives in the United States. For me she is a national heroine of Caribbean. In 1991 Haitian-born Marjorie Voncent, Miss Illinois, was elected Miss America, the most oldest beauty pageant in the world. Greetings.

  • ezinearticles.

  • Hola Alejandro. I enjoyed reading your essay. Fascinating info you have about Gerthie. Gracias for sharing.

  • During that year,Joelle Apollon, Miss Haiti went to Miss World 1975, where she was 5th runner up...For the first time Haiti participated it. I 've wrote an article about Haiti -ezinearticles (sports, Gerthie David and history)

  • and yet all these facts about about gertie are all wrong....she's not a sculptor, nor does she live in the US.I find it hard to believe that anyone would compare marjorie to gertie or eveline miot[first black ranking as a finalist in the sixties err'65]...hers was a talent contest

  • You made such Gr8 Points that I didn't even realize! LoL She was by far the most fashionable out of the Finalist. I was 15 yrs old at the time and was living in Haiti. We thought she would place 4th runnner up because of her skin color but now looking back she deserved to be crowned Miss Universe. Vive Haiti!

  • Hi MichG60. Was it big news in Haiti? Would you know what she's doing now? Thanks for posting.

  • It was very big news in Haiti. She was a declared a National Heroine after she placed 1st Runners Up at this pageant. I'm not sure what she's doing now though, I'm sure she's done well for herself though. She's a very educated individual. Also Miss Haiti Universe 1952 was the first ever Black COntestant to go to the Semi Finals!

  • Wow, A national heroine. That's wonderful to know. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate your reply.

  • Daring moves by miss Haiti:a feather boa, a halter gown[hand beaded],the thinnest eyebrows[all the rage today at the house of chanel]...and without claiming voodoo to be right, she stated that it was a religion like any other...BRAVO miss thing! and thank you[33 years later]
