If you ask me, a hearing about a Kirkland Police Officer arresting a citizen, regardless of status, for drunk driving to me is money perfectly well spent. It's in their job description to maintain order and to take every encounter with citizens very seriously. I got pulled over after leaving a bar with my friend for failure to wear a seatbelt. He followed me for miles then kept tryin to pull beside me at stop light to look in my car, finanlly he did. I had one beer there, got out and had to do the stupid sobriety test, he thought I was drunk (what a fing joke, he just wanted his quota) then do a breathalyzer, because the moron thought I was intoxicated, which I wasn't and I was finally free to go after about 40 minutes.

Cops aren't just trying to 'pin' something on anyone. In my opinion, you should be happy cops are strictly enforcing the RCW. If you went infront of a judge for a preliminary hearing and the judge reads your case, "Having an open-container within arms reach which at that time I asked him to perform a soberiety test" the judge will just say, okay...so where did the cop go wrong? He just wasted 40 minutes of my time on the side of the road. 5 cop cars showed up and made a spectacle of it, I looked like a jackass and some of my friend could have been driving by. Lofa Tatupu is friggin underrated. Hes the quarterback of the defense and did it from day one as a rookie. How many guys could u name that did that? And he did it at a pro bowl level as well. He doesn't just make tackles, he has to anticipate the play and call the audibles.
