Tuve el grandisimo honor de tener como profesor un ex tripulante del Admiral Graf Von Spee, Gustav Neumann, quien amaba a su patria de origen Alemania y la suya de adopcion Argentina en que la formo su familia.
Mi mejor recuerdo para usted Herr Profesor Neumann.

I recently read a book "Tango des doods" (Tango of Death). I think Langsdorff was a good navy officer and was good for his men. Respect for a German officer during World War II.

Thanks for showing this footage. My father was on the HMS Exeter in the Battle of the River Plate. He always told me something about the Germans in which he was engaged in battle: "They were honourable sailors." My father went on to spend time in The Argentine and all of South America at the time, including relief for the terrible earthquake at Concepcion and Valparaiso in Chile.
This is the best of the two Langsdorff vids. Excellently done for a true HERO in every sense of the word...treated his enemies with respect and loved his sailors.
Thanks for this work. It´s really well done. Hans Langsdorff comitted suicide knowing Hitler never forgive him his order to sink the Ship by it´s own withot going out to fight a useless fight and sacrifice his men. Langsdorff was found dead, laying on the flag of the old german Navy. Not on a nazi flag!
