  • the background sounds like New Orleans... The birds.

  • What an awesome guitarist!

  • P.S. I also want to thank everyone who has helped anyone in anyway with the Hurricane Katrina/Rita tragedy and just in everyday life..Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

  • I just gained a huge amount of respect for the Edge! I already had when he started the music rising foundation but this just magnifies if beyond belief. Being a musician from St. Bernard parish , La who lost everything , this completely gives me hope almost 5 years after the event. This helps teach me about the kind of person that I want to be. Thank you Edge!

  • You can see that he is really into music with all his heart and soul and that bringing it back to the people in new orleans really lies at his heart.. I respect and love edge for that.. Just as much do I love U2's sound which to me conveys love and a feeling of joy when giving something to the world, to people, to those you love..

  • What a great soul

  • I want to click the little thumbsup for pretty much every comment here.

The Edge is an amazing guy, he's sincere and he cares about more than just being the center of attention on stage. That's more than a lot of acts in America can even say (U2 is from IRELAND, and they're helping out in New Orleans)

not to mention he has the craziest guitar setup and he's a brilliant player.

    Well done sir.

  • What a noble human being.

  • What's sad today is that still little has changed in the New Orleans area. More shocking than what happened was the lack of concern by the people in the higher levels of government. If Katrina hit Texas, and didn't primarily affect poor, black people, I bet Bush and his buddies would have been quick to act, not take about 5 days for any federal intervention. The American people responded quickly and from the heart, but the government? Pfffffttttttt!

  • Ye I do wonder how long well have to wait till we see something similar like this under the new government, i wonder what the reaction would be...i hope theyll be more understanding than the fuck faced inconsiderate conservative Republicans

  • I hope so, too. There really are no words to truly describe how bad it was of this government to basically do nothing for about 5 days. The lower ninth ward still looks bad today. If Katrina had hit some are where the wealthy live, there'd be little hesitation to help. Because of the backlash from the Katrina situation, Bush and his government have been more quick to respond to events like hurricanes. I'm sure the Obama presidency will react quickly.

  • I tear when I see this vid. Edge's music express many feelings... He's a top rock star but he doesn't cover his sensibility. He's a man with many feelings and he's a very nice person... Yeah, I would like meeting him some day. I would like having him as a mentor or a friend and I think he would my best friend...

  • Edge is my idol (aside from my father)! He's so great, kind, and caring. And he plays guitar like fricking god. Edge is the best. I wish I could meet and thank him for inspring me to even pick up a guitar.

  • edge is a great guy,so very nice and genuine, and he plays kick ass guitar much much respect to the edge

  • That was pretty freakin' awesome. I hope I meet him one day.

  • People like this come once in a lifetime...oh and he's also pretty decent at the guitar, they say

  • He's great musician and nice person, I guess. He keeps Bono out of trables always.

  • Bono thinks beyond the clouds.

    Edge thinks on the ground.

It's the small things that count. :-)

  • I am compelled to say that he is a "true artist" and is this day there are very few...

  • The "Edge" is a "Class Act." Hands down...

  • Edge is so genuine. Such a rare thing.

  • My Hero... One Of Them.

  • the edge is the man, he made me want to learn to play the guitar and i do now, he plays the delay effect as a real master.

  • Edge is such a kick-ass guy!!!

  • This is one of the reason why he is the best.

  • Very Nice, Edge.

  • Edge is such a great guy......and he is such a great guitar player he is great!!!!!

  • I lost everything in Katrina in St. Bernard. I'm not a musician, but I appreciate the help he's giving to them. Thank you Edge.

  • Such a great guy!

  • Speaking the truth. Katrina is far from over. Help out however you can. My music rising epiphone les pal is the bomb. Thanks Edge.

  • Thanks so much, Edge. I'm a Hurricane Katrina victim, and to know that the greatest band in the whole world cares as much as they do means the world to me. I love you U2!!

  • awesome, you can tell he really meant everything he said

  • Each day of my life I will remember this interview. The strength of The Edge and all the people of Music Rising it´s amazing. I listen to U2 since 13 years old. Right now I am with 31. Almost twenty years listening to their songs. Thank you Dave Evans !

  • I'm just so impressed. What can I say, that's why I respect and love Edge so much. Not just for that he's the best musician, but for how much he cares. Amazing, thank's for posting this!

  • This is just another reason why U2 fans are so loyal to the members of the group-- they are so down to earth and human. Giving, passionate, and empathetic.

Great interview. Love it. Thanks for sharing. (-:

    Edge is the man. (-:

  • well said!

    x

  • Oh edge you are wonderful...Thanks for everything you do.

  • WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT AT THE END?

  • Having helped some of these wonderful people that had to flee from their homes, having survived hurricane Rita, if you have ever lost everything in a matter of hours, if you have listened to some of the horrific true stories that happened, ( I had a conversation with a charter bus driver that went in to help), it's unbelievable. One has to go see for yourself what it STILL looks like today to understand. You will begin to weep as you go into the 9th ward, what you see on tv doesn't do justice.

  • i think that bit at the end portrays edge's dignity. he eschews the rhetoric it must be so easy to get into when being interviewed on camera about your piece of mind. when pressed he puts the people before any grand theory at the risk of coming across oddly himself. that's dignity. imagine if more of us (not just rock stars) shared his humility? this guy deserves every success he's been granted in life.

  • Amen to that runeDNA

  • @U2Love

Re" what was that all about at the end?

He was trying to keep from crying because he feels for the people who are not still able to go back to their homes after so many years.

  • Edge is sooo sweet...I hope this means all is well with his family.

  • He really cares.
