I been reading comics since 1995ish and I read some of the older ones I find that the older ones are so much better. Theres stroy depth in the caracters. Some vailains you can sympothize with.
Ultimate Spider-Man is definitley a teen geared book if you ask me, and Bendis actually does his best work on Ultimate Spider-Man, but the other heroes such as Daredevil and the X-Men are really confusing, and it led unfortunatley to Ultimatum.
I've been reading Miller's run on Ultimate X-Men I actually like it. I haven't read any of the recent issues due to it apparrently being fucking awful, but I've liked what I've read so far.
I really enjoyed how you compared Ultimatum to a video game with a potential giant reset button at the end. That's what I think Loeb is trying to do with this book is make it into a game or summer blockbuster. And while that appeals to people with zero attention spans it doesn't work for comics readers who are in for the long haul
Man, I totally agree with everything you said mastulogan. That is exactly who I think Loeb is writing the book for and that's why I think it's turning off the real comic fans...well, most of the smart ones anyway.

I appreciate that this season they've been answering as many questions as they've been posing, filling in a lot of the gaps that the writers have been leaving - intentionally - along the way. It will never equal the first 2 seasons, but it still has my interest, and that's saying a lot.
Another Lost fan!! YES! It all good for me and any dip in quality slipped under my rader for every week builds on episodes past while increasing the scope and magnitude of the island and everyone involved. In my eyes, every episode surpasses the last. :-)

ultimate u got me properly into comics, but the only people that wrote good ultimate books were bendis, millar and ellis

Violence is good as long as it happens with awesome action.
action action action - awesome comic layout/action/art/choreography/flows.
Marvel Adventures Spider-Man with a bit of gore (to show where the stakes are at in their lives) would be the comic im looking for. -and more action-
Even when comics have a great run, everyone makes their own continuity anyway, so im not too fussed.
Better continuities just make it easier for the reader to create theirs.
