I'm studying to become a vet. Alaskan Malamutes are a completely different breed than the Siberian Husky. Malamutes have longer hair and they look a tad bigger due to their thick coat. I am a dog/animal lover and I know. There is only one husky and that's the Siberian.

@PotHead16100 Malamutes ARE NOT a type of Husky, you're wrong. Also, there are not 8 different types of Huskies, really there is only one Husky, that is the Siberian. Other "Huskies" are actually sub-divisions or mutt breeds consisting of several Spitz breeds and resembling a Siberian. Alaskan, Greenland, and Mackenzie River Huskies aren't really Huskies, but crossbreeds with Malamute, Wolf, etc in the genes. People often think Malamutes are Huskies (as in this video), they're ignorant.

Beautiful Husky and looks like my huskies twin. Mine isn't all that lean either but was undersized w/ health issues for the first couple of years. When I finally stopped poisoning him w/ the "vet recommended" dog food & started to prepare all his meals myself w/ fresh meat (not raw) his size, coat and disposition all improved considerably! He also no longer receives expensive surgeries, steroids & other treatments. I did my own research to get answers & we are both very happy w/ the results!!

S'not a malamute. Look very closely at the physical features; a malamute would have a far more blocky muzzle, his legs and paws would be far larger, the tail would be quite thicker. . .and besides that, I'm sure the owner would have no reason to lie about his dog's breed. There's no shame in a malamute over a siberian, no reason to lie, though I do think he may be a bit overweight, which maycontribute to his size.
