Is it just me, or does Chris sound 100x better than Lea in this rendition?? Don't get me wrong, I think Lea Michele is amazing and has a wonderful voice, but Chris just sounds PERFECT!! =)
@ch2010ize At the beginning it definitely looks like he's lip synching, but near the end his voice gets all shaky and a bit out of tune, so I'm assuming it's live.
For everyone who thinks either of them are lip syncing you obviously jave never done a concert. They dont pick you to SING a song if you cant sing it live...

Ughhhhh i'm sorry Glee fans but i just HATE Glee they don't even sing good in my opinion they ruined this song soooo bad Wicked is AMAZING and you can't top the performance they do
@TheKaelyn777 Well, you are right. Wicked is very much better and just amazing, but Glee is a good show and they have so nice voices. Other songs of Glee are better! (For example "Dancing in the rain/Umbrella" or they Rocky Horror performance)

It's the SAME verse, but Lea sings one of the notes in a COMPLETELY different way. I don't know why she did this, but it certainly tells us they ARE live and they were just so perfect that everyone thought they were lip syncing
WHY must everyone fight over the "lip-syncing" issue? It doesn't freakin' matter. Seriously, it's not like some big ass controversy, EVERYONE in the concert lip-synced at least once. For christs' sakes. Just get over it. It's annoying to read two sides of an obviously over-rated fight. Just enjoy the damn thing lip-synced or not. Chris and Lea are amazing in their own rights. Let them enjoy there time on the stage. They're happy, then we should be also. *Le Sigh* -rant over-.
Lea is incredible. Stop putting her down. Yes, Rachel's determined, stuck up and irritating, but Lea is so talented, and surprisingly incredibly nice, if you watch all her interviews.
That awkward moment when people are saying that Lea is terrible in this performance when half of them probably don't even have half the talent she has...
And by the way, around 1:24 he gets off tune a little, and he looks pretty out of breath at the end. And I don't why Lea would be staring at him with such admiration if she knew he was lip-synching.
He does miss like one note on that one, so you can tell he's live. And he does is AMAZING. So don't go around saying that they auto tune him, and he has no talent. Even if they did auto tune him, there's no way he can't have talent. Auto tune improves your voice. They can't just CREATE a voice that beautiful. So, even if he WAS lip-synching here (which he isn't) that doesn't change the fact that he is one of the most talented ones on the show.
So, I know for a fact he is capable of that. I believe that he is live because it's clear at 0:47 the music is louder than his voice. No way would they have let that slide in a recorded version. Besides it sounds different and the audio isn't as clear as on the show. Besides, I don't see why they would let him lip-synch, and not Lea. The fact is, he has an amazing vocal range and an incredible voice. He is fully capable of hitting those notes. I have heard him sing I wanna hold your hand live.
Okay, just to set things straight here. Believe what you want, if she lip-synched the last note, or he did the whole thing. I know it's hard to believe there is still true talent left in the world after all these washed up pop-stars. But they really are just that amazing. That is why they got chosen for Glee. I watched a video of Chris singing in a bar-which was live-because it wasn't even a song, just him fooling around. He hit the high notes PERFECTLY, just like he does here.
Why are people saying he's way over autotuned and his voice is really bad? While I agree he is lip-syncing here, but have you even seen his audition tapes? His actual voice is quite phenomenal if you ask me.

Lea is much worse. I don't know why people are having a hard time deciding. Chris is obviously better. He misses absolutely NO notes, where as Lea can tend to be either too flat or sharp.
Well I'd rather hear lip syncing that a voice that misses every other note. And btw, he's NOT lip syncing - look at his adams apple. If he was lip syncing, it wouldn't move up or down at all.

@cherryblossomgirl90 First of all, calm down. Secondly, I was referring to people comparing him hitting the same high note as Lea. A guy generally has a lower register (despite that he could be a counter tenor) as a girl. The song was most likely set at a higher key than he could naturally and comfortably handle. So I don't see the problem for him to not even hit that note.

He's lip syncing and she's live and working really hard to pull off that song, but 100 people think he is better. I have nothing against Chris, I adore him, I just dislike his ignorant fandom sometimes. Especially when they bash on Lea, which happens A LOT, even in HER videos! I've never seen such a hostile fandom. It doesn't happen the other way around.

:| I was totally agreeing with you right up until here. Chris definitely isn't live here, and I hate it when people say how much better he is than Lea too, and it's not fair to Lea, but really? He was flat on some of the notes of I Want to Hold Your Hand and definitely wasn't perfect, but "butchered?" I actually think he sounded pretty damn good, *especially* in the later showings, like in New York and Manchester.
@WeHadItComing When I was at the show he was totally off key. And his vibrato sounds different live, much more sheepish if you know what I mean. Anyway, he sounds nothing like the recording. It just proves how much he's autotuned. I'm a huge fan of his acting, but I think he's way overrated when it comes to his singing voice, which is one of the weakest of the cast if you ask me. It's just ridiculous how people say he's better than Lea when he's lip syncing and she's not.
Chris can't hit that note live its obvas he quites down when they get to that note and lets Lea do it and he stops before the note finishes. Maybe he can hit it live, just not well.
@AmyPondFAN30 I have heard Lea and she is a terrific singer, but let's face the facts, this is a really hard song to sing tenderly and perfectly, that's why it has to be loud for her. In my personal opinion Lea's voice is good, but boring and not single bit unique. It's the main reason I prefer Chris singing this song ;)

@Ulbah She gets to sing different songs alot. Not always on her own but mostly with the rest of the group. She's sung rock songs, reggae, ballad, broadway, pop. And yeah maybe she sings a lot but HOW IS THAT HER FAULT ? She doesn't write the show does she ? She gets told what to sing and she does it. I like Tina and Santana but its not Lea's fault they don't sing as much. You should know that. Lea can sing well any type off song.

Why are people saying he's way over autotuned and his voice is really bad? While I agree he is lip-syncing here, but have you even seen his audition tapes? His actual voice is quite phenomenal if you ask me.

Lea is much worse. I don't know why people are having a hard time deciding. Chris is obviously better. He misses absolutely NO notes, where as Lea can tend to be either too flat or sharp.

@cherryblossomgirl90 First of all, calm down. Secondly, I was referring to people comparing him hitting the same high note as Lea. A guy generally has a lower register (despite that he could be a counter tenor) as a girl. The song was most likely set at a higher key than he could naturally and comfortably handle. So I don't see the problem for him to not even hit that note.

People just need to stop comparing Chris and Lea when he isn't live and she is. He never sang this song live (but he is live on I want to hold your hand this year, and both he and Lea lip sync to Happy days).. but that highest rated comment. that's so unfair. He's lip syncing and she's live and working really hard to pull off that song, but 100 people think he is better. I have nothing against Chris, I adore him, I just dislike his ignorant fandom sometimes. Especially when they bash on Lea, which happens A LOT, even in HER videos! I've never seen such a hostile fandom. It doesn't happen the other way around.

@cherryblossomgirl90 Listen, about your message to me, there is no way this is lip syncing, all of them are fucking great singers, especially Chris and I highly doubt they need background music. And you can't seriously prove than in any way. So please listen to him really sing and shut your mouth. I think Chris is doing a wonderful job, he has a wider voice range than Lea and HE'S A GUY. I don't belive Lea could hit incredibly low notes perfectly either.

:| I was totally agreeing with you right up until here. Chris definitely isn't live here, and I hate it when people say how much better he is than Lea too, and it's not fair to Lea, but really? He was flat on some of the notes of I Want to Hold Your Hand and definitely wasn't perfect, but "butchered?" I actually think he sounded pretty damn good, *especially* in the later showings, like in New York and Manchester.

@WeHadItComing When I was at the show he was totally off key. And his vibrato sounds different live, much more sheepish if you know what I mean. Anyway, he sounds nothing like the recording. It just proves how much he's autotuned. I'm a huge fan of his acting, but I think he's way overrated when it comes to his singing voice, which is one of the weakest of the cast if you ask me. It's just ridiculous how people say he's better than Lea when he's lip syncing and she's not.

Chris can't hit that note live its obvas he quites down when they get to that note and lets Lea do it and he stops before the note finishes. Maybe he can hit it live, just not well.

@AmyPondFAN30 I have heard Lea and she is a terrific singer, but let's face the facts, this is a really hard song to sing tenderly and perfectly, that's why it has to be loud for her. In my personal opinion Lea's voice is good, but boring and not single bit unique. It's the main reason I prefer Chris singing this song ;)

Lea has such a great voice and one that i could listen to all day whereas Chris is very boring but then he does sing the same type of song on Glee evrey time. Hes deffo a better actor than singer. Sometimes, she does get to sing different songs, but that's only because she gets to sing SO MUCH. Which is incredibly unfair for other singers (who are GREAT btw.) to SING anything on the show. Lets see.. Tina? Mercedes? Santana? In MY opinion, all of these girls (and chris) sing much more in an unique way than Lea. Also, I forget their real names pft..

@Ulbah She gets to sing different songs alot. Not always on her own but mostly with the rest of the group. She's sung rock songs, reggae, ballad, broadway, pop. And yeah maybe she sings a lot but HOW IS THAT HER FAULT ? She doesn't write the show does she ? She gets told what to sing and she does it. I like Tina and Santana but its not Lea's fault they don't sing as much. You should know that. Lea can sing well any type off song.
