Thank you for posting this. I love "V", "V: The Final Battle", and "V: The Series", the good old days of science fiction and television, too. Loved it then still love it now. I have all of them on DVD. The announcer for NBC you here talking is Danny Dark, he did the voice of Superman on the 1970s and 1980s cartoon the "Super Friends".
I was 9 years old in 1984 when this was released. Boy, it seems like yesterday when I saw this being advertised on TV. I rarely saw the TV series, maybe one. I recently bought the entire series several months back and watched it all. I was kinda disappointed to see each episode getting off track. I don't want to go into detail, but it'd seem like one episode would contradict the other in more ways than one. I don't wanna say too much, but man. A cliffhanger on the last episode.
I love this!!! I remember watching this on cable tv in 1984. Watching this promo now, I can still remember and feel the same excitement I felt back then!!! Then they made "V - the Series" aired October 26, 1984 and I never missed an episode. The whole thing was fantastic. I even got the book by A C Crispin "V" and "V - East Coast Crisis".
i 've been searching like crazy for the cast intros that came on right after this...it was different from the cast intros of the original mini series that used footage from the mini series.....this one introduced each actor in a close up shot of their face filmed with a kind of foggy/misty type background behind them....just wondering if ANYBODY else remembers this
@Vtsfic Yeah its probably lost on tape .....it was shown as part of the cast intro for the very FIRST showing of the "The Final Battle" and i don't think it was ever used again in any network re broadcast .its probably on tape collecting dust in a vault in NBC studios somewhere....or somebody with a VERY old VHS copy that taped the entire broadcast from opening recap to opening credits its just rare now because its probably only exist on tape like many of the old network promos for the show
@redpenphantom Kenneth Johnson said his idea for V came after reading Tolstoy's War and Peace. David Icke didn't start talking about Reptilian aliens until the 90s, you know, after he had his awakening with the psychics and all that (please). V and also the non-Reptilian They Live were all established fictional narratives prior to Icke's insane ramblings and to say he wasn't influenced by any of them is ludicrous.

I used to laugh at the scene at 4:39 in the video. That mothership was never there, all slipping across the screen like that!

TV was so much better then. None of this "reality" garbage. This intro reminds me of the "change" era of politics that we ushered in.

@free2drm - I thought of the same thing, too when watching my V-The Series tapes not too long after the election...

@videoguymt2009 are you just going to be an arogant ass or are you going to give a reason?

Didn't Danny Dark do a VO at the end, talking about Pre-te-nama and how NBC encourages peace, or something like that?

So this is how David Icke got all his ideas! Cool!

laff my ass off was that a joke??

David Icke did not get his ideas from this show. You should ask where Kenneth Johnson got his ideas from to write the show.
