“(This tune) Also prototypical and it has the unmitigated audacity to have the most moronic piano section I ever heard on any record – and it repeats it often enough to convince me that it’s deliberate” Frank Zappa, 1975, quoted by Giovanni Dadomo in “Frank Zappa Talks of Faves, Raves and Composers in Their Graves”, Let It Rock, June 1975, p.38
I loved this group along with the Jesters.I liked the up tempo Stick with me baby. My favorite Jesters record Love no one but you .. flip of So Strange.

Used to sing this song! Glad it got heard again in Casino. The Paragons were aptly named...giants of doo wop. I even like the Zappa version. Coolness!
I REMEMBER WHEN ABBOTTS CAME THRU ON CAHUENGA NEAR THE MANAGERS, HE WOULD SLIDE THE SIDE OF THE VAN DOOR OPEN WITH THIS SONG PLAYING, IF EDDIE WAS HERE, OOH BOY OH BOY OH BOY
This make me think of weekend parties and dances. This was a fun era. Yes there were a few fights but rare killings. You fought and some became friends.
My dad is grew up in Grape St Watts in the 50's and early 60's. He was turned onto this music during his AirForce tenure. I grew up listening to this and still do to this day. This music. Man i wish I could go back to the doo wop days and fighting with fists and an occasional bat or chain. I would have been a greaser. lol
your are right , just to bad things cant be like they were back in the days,, moms and pops kick back with the music,, thats right just to bad huh, i think the other side of this song is florence another bad ass jam, South gate boy here later keep the music going! Jesse
Thanks, I think it's interesting. Zappa's on a whole other plane of existance, so it's weird hearing it the Mothers do this song--and it's kinda a semi-pardody too. I'm impressed that he even listened to doo-wop. Since Zappa's was T-H-E guy that discovered The Persuasions, and he did an interesting version of some other doo wop(The Closer you Are), I owe Zappa a debt of graditude! Oh, and Aunt Jemima (sp?)...The Persuasion do a fantastic version of that. Great stuff. Thanks!
Shit, this is a rowdy assed doo wop - good for drivin your babe all around the dance floor and grindin your ass off. Dry-fuckin we used to call it - you who were there know what I'm taukin bout. Great rhythm, beautiful falsetto. Never hear this again - enjoy it. Thanks for the post. Ayyy te watcho Carlos! Johnny Pal
God I used to hate it when I loaned out my 45's and they came back with my name written on them like the jam above. Luv the Paragons - definite OG stuff.
On day's when things aren't going well lisen to Doo-Wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear. I guarantee your day will end on a high. Doo-Wop, the greatest.
I've never seen "Casino". I'm surprised that this song was used in it, because this wasn't a hit, according to my Doo-Wop knowledge. It's a great song, nonetheless.
@istgone I know im late, but would u by any chance happen to know the name of the song playing in the Background where Nicky is beating a guy up in the alley, this scene u can also hear Sam saying" Nicky's dedication to his job".
@peleking352 Sorry, I can't remember the tune off the top of my head. I guess I'll just have to watch the whole movie again... oh darn. Such a sacrifice... haha.
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
