I was there from Clark county. When they alleged that Skagit county had seated unelected delegates (just called up McCain supporters, and paid their way to Spokane), two young guys behind me exclaimed "that's what happened to us" as if there was nothing wrong with that.

EVERYONE there should have been elected at the caucus.

I'm a Conservative Republican Ron Paul Supporter & I've watched Ron Paul being cheated out of delegates in state after state.

I've watched Ron Paul not being allowed to speak at a state convention (I'm betting they won't allow him to be nominated or to speak at the national convention).

I have watched these state conventions be run dictatorial by the McCain people.

When they later come to me asking me to vote for McCain I have a simple answer: HELL NO!

WA state decided that an allocation of half of the delegates would come from the popular vote. I.E. a McCain delegate and a McCain alternate delegate from each Congressional district. What would you have wanted 3 out of 6 to be from the McCain camp or be able to vote on the remaining four.

WA state did not decide to allocate delegates based on th primary, the state GOP itself did. Then, since it was state law, they had us vote...for 1 candidate. Why not have a ballot full of McCain people and let them speak and then let us choose. Use your brain and some common sense!

One of my favorite moments of the day was seeing a kid with a McCain sticker and an earpiece trying to tell three older McCain supporters in front of us to join the exodus. "Sir, your wife is waiting for you in the hallway." "Well, she's gonna be waiting a long time, because I'm staying right here!" Those guys were bugged at least 3 times by 3 different McCain leaders to leave, but they stood their ground. Really inspiring.

Good work on the story. As an alternate who was supposed to be #12 in being seated, but was not, due to the prefabed slate that was used. I am horribly saddened to learn all I did at this convention. Thare was blainent cheating by people supposed to be working for US. To think I paid over $100 to attend an event that feels like it was pre-determined by the McCain party, really upsets me. I was cheated out of my ability to vote!

Our convention went similarly (minus the crowds and sadly minus a quorum) but not successful on any level. Not one platform issue changed, not one successful rule change and not one Ron Paul delegate nor alternate elected for national convention.

I went to the Minnesota State Convention as an alternate. We were able to pass several platform changes. We also were able to stop a pro-central power constitution change. We had about 35-40% of the vote. We definitely made an impact and the people running the convention were trying everything to stop us. They brought several rules. Wasn't quite as bad as this vid, but GOP's committees and chair people have too much power.

Note that the reason that 1 person ballot is a big deal is because over a dozen people were running for delegate in that disctrict and our state law says we must VOTE for all delegate. However, the last minute rules (which I, as a delegate, have never seen) allowed some delegates to be alloted from the Primary results (the supposed winner, McCain) and then the McCain representatives were able to choose who they wanted. They could at least have offered multiple McCain supporters,

A 1 person ballot like that does not satisfy our state law. The only way it would is if only 1 person was eligible, so at least all McCain supporting delegates should have been on there.

Oh yeah, we were not allowed to hear delegate speeches at all and were not allowed to nominate from the floor either.

Great job by the interviewer. Commenting on the last few minutes of his presentation in Battle at Spokane 3 he showed what most all the ballots looked like. They had one McCain person on them to be elected. Just like Stalin's "open" elections. The only thing missing were weapons trained on us while we voted.

And I must again point out the jack-booted brown shirt Spokane Police Departments continued example of police state tactics. As you will see in these clips there were at least 2 events.

I attended as an alternate, was seated on Saturday afternoon (during the McCain walk out) as a delegate. My district chair claimed that I had stolen the button, or obtained it from somebody other than a person in our district, despite the fact that the seargent at arms who seated me vehemently disagreed with the crazy, unethical and illegal (but successful) attempt to strip my credentials simply because Ruth Gibbs wanted them stripped.

Yep, a national delegate from that convention was approached by a McCain person and offered all expenses paid+$500. He said no proudly, too bad we couldent have got that mcCain saying that on tape.

According to the Washington's constitution, a voter bribing is felony crime of 5 years or 10,000 dollar fine.

I could not believe that Chet Dow, Whatcom county chairman, did that. He blatantly lied to the sergeant at arms right in front of me. Not only did he lie, he also came to the women sitting behind me, one of which was Luanne VanWerven elected to be a national delegate, and said "I am not commanding you to do this as chairman, but if you support the McCain platform in any way I highly recommend that you leave immediately."

Total railroad job. They changed their own rules on May 30th to eliminate debate.

Thank you Fred. I would also like to point out that Rob was accused of stealing a delegate button even though I witnessed him credentialed as a delegate. Also our county chair stole a vote from a 70 year old woman who was not able to defend her vote as she had to catch a plane back home.
