I love this movie. They black spectre frogmen are my favorites. If you like them, too, watch my youtube video "Black Rubber Frogmen 6" with many pictures of the black suited frogmen outside the water and all underwater fight scenes.
Curious, to those of you who approve of such reworkings; do you all want the "Western way of life" to completely disappear? Have you pondered what your group think as displayed here is indicative of for your own future potential regarding subjugation, or is that too clever for you?
I would love to see a movie with a "female Largo" killing other divers! There is no movie existing, in which a female diver kills other divers or drowns male swimmers! So bad!!
I agree about the 1.47,very nice.I have never seen it.The other thing I always noticed in the film was that the aquatroopers ( a good title,I hav'nt heard them called that before) nearly always seem content to disable Largo's men by cutting the air supply and allowing them to swim to the surface. If that was me ,I would have made sure they stayed on the bottom!
This is one of the cleverest pieces of editing I've ever seen for one of my favorite Bond scenes ever...many thanks to the author!! The additional footage is really great, wherever it came from, but my favorite part is still the red diver who takes one at 2:10!
(cont'd) battle that also includes Bond in a more limited role; just the main shots of Bond joining the battle until he takes off after Largo (the only reasonable purpose for carrying around that back motor - a fast chase).
Nice job. I've always liked Thunderball but I agree with many who think the underwater stuff is very anti-Bond; too slow and cumbersome. This is particularly true in Thunderball, as the underwater battle goes on far too long. IMO, simply showing quick cuts of some of the main underwater action would be enough to tell the story. And when Bond shows up with his incredibly heavy backpack, the problem is exaserbated. You've eliminated that issue here. I'd love to see an edit with a shorter (more)
anti-Bond. Bond movies (like the novels) are meant to slow, deliberate and languorous. Though if the ADD LOL generation of viewers don't have the time to appreciate that they should go back to their myspace, texting, transporters films and lame video games.
Where in the world did you get the footage at 1:47? This is a shot I have never seen, and it almost looks like a test 16mm reel that turned up in Lamar Boren's attic. Fantastic!
The quality on this editing really enhances those best parts. When the slaughter begins and the dead red suits pile up, Bond is wonderfully marginalized. As reality sets in the SPECTRE frogmen no doubt enjoy a real life high.

@paullubliner I agree. Does anyone want Miami to go up in a mushroom cloud?

My grandad was a diver on this film. In the scene where the motorbike gets thrown in the lake, he was under it lowering into the water

The diver copping one in the gut at 2:10 is brilliant.

As Chookwah says, the diver copping a spear in the gut is just wonderful.

Great job on including the new footage as well.
