lol. they are usually a finer milled powder and its more of a buildable color. its mostly a texture difference that makes the difference in the look of the end result

I had the same thoughts on that powder - it's kind of the same with all the maybelline foundation. Perhaps you should give Physician's Formula pressed powders a chance? They're totally organic (w/o talc), so they're a little expensive, but I love the finish.

for your stila shadow. mash it up to the point that is just powder. then add some rubbing alcohol around hmm 3-4 drops??! ish. and let it dry. it should mend together! i do this all the time and is back to a normal shadow!
