I remember another show similar to Early Edition but the main character had been the sole survivor of a plane crash as a child and could somehow see the future. The main character was named Chance and he had red hair. Also recall that it was on around the same time as Early Edition. Anyone remember the name of the show?
Hey EE fans! I just wanted to let you guys know that Early Edition know that the show has a new home on GMC (Gospel Music Channel). You can watch the show Monday thru Thrusday at 10/9c on DirecTV Channel 338, Verizon FiOs 224 or check your local cable.
I'm still waiting for the final series to come out on DVD. I have series one. It is wonderful, uplifting all the way without being cloying like that silly "F*cked by an angel"
And I suppose you think God walks around in a white suit and speaks with an american accent?. No wonder that country is finished. The thing about this show that I liked is that it was disntinctly secular, almost science fiction. Gary was good, as are most people, WITHOUT any bullsh*t belief system. The reason ought to be clear. It is an evolutionary adaptation. Humanity has only advanced because we are kind to each other for no reason. Religion poisons everything. You want proof, look at the US.
Ok. I already posted this, but apparantly youtube does not post comments while it is performing matinence. So I shall send it again.
I am a civiilized person, so I will restrain myself in what I am about to say. However, I must ask, what lovely country would you be from?
In my country, we have the freedom to express our beliefs and ideas however we wish to. I do not know what country you are from, so I do not know what you are free to do in your country.
That's what is called a non sequtier. In most countries in the world people are already free to say what they like and to beleive what they like. They are not issues for public discussion. Unfortunately for the U.S. they seem to beleive that God is on their side. Nothing could be further from the truth. Oh and just try and run for public office in the U.S. as an avowed atheist. You won't get too far I can assure you.
Of course you will. You know what? How about you run for public office down under, as a baby killer?
I assure you you won't get very far. America does not care what religion their public offices hold, because it is none of their business what a person worships in their own private home.
As for God walking around in a white suit, and speaking with in American accent, that is just Hollywood's interpretation of Him. God is the almighty, and how he speaks is universal. God speaks all languages, and is all colors.
The U.S may have its problems, but what country doesn't? I mean, look at Iraq, Iran, China, India, and whatever country you are from. They all have problems too! However, we deal with them, and we are still beautiful, wonderful countries.
In America, there is freedom of religion. This means that people are able to have faith in whatever belief system they want to. So in your case, you would be free to be an atheistic snob. I happen to go to a Catholic school, where two of my friends are athiests. I completely respect them for their beliefs, and they completely respect me. Religion, among many, many others is the reason that humanity has evolved. We would be nowhere in life, if people were just nice to each other for no reason.
We would be nowhere in life, if people were just nice to each other for no reason
That statement is so ridiculous it is entirely unbefitting anyone with any intelligence. Of course people are kind to each other for no reason As I stated, it is an evolutionary adaptation. You think people wouldn't be good without religion? If people are good without it then why do we need religion? More specifically ask yourself, why do YOU need it?
I do not need religion, I have it in my life because I love it. Yes people are kind to eachoter for no reason, but what I meant is that, that is not the only reason that we have evolved socially.
Of course I believe people would be great without religion. I just think that they are missing out greatly in life. Many people need religion as something solid to lean on. Others just truly believe in it.
You realise the reason Mitt Romney could NEVER get elected President is because he is a member of the Church of Mormon. Not that I care but think its a cult but then so are the catholics. Why do you think there has only ever been one Catholic president? And he was a complete b*****d.
It is a possibilty that he could get elected, and there is a possibility that he coudn't. The Mormons are by no means a cult. You must remember that every religion has its radicals and extremeists. The fact that there has been only one Catholic president, is completley irrevelant. John F. Kennedy was a fantastic president, who got our country out of a lot of trouble. He won many awards, and is not whatever vulgar unnecessary profanity you just called him.
Oh and I suppose that shagging anything with a pulse doesn't make him a complete scoundrel? Jacqueline was a beautiful, graceful woman who did not deserve his philandering.
It is very unfair to judge a president based on your personal opinion of their personal life. If you are going to judge someone, especially a president, you should really be judging them on their work ethic, not what they do on their own time.
Uh did you say the same thing about Bubba Clinton? I'll bet you ditten. Oha nd by the way, in Australia character only very seldom figures in the way our so called leaders are judged. In the U.S. it appears its the only issue. You do realise Kennedy was banging a gangster's moll? And this while his brother was trying to close down the mob. So he wasn't just a philanderer, he also risked national security. He was better than Nixon but you guys ended up voting for him and where did that get you???
Clinton was also a very successful president. Who cares who he was sleeping with? That is nobody's business but his own. You shouldn't be talking about information that you do not know is valid. You are completly misinformed. Fix yourself before you start insulting me and my country's history. Yes I believe that Clinton, and Kennedy should not have done what they did. However, like I said. It is none of our business.
It didn't stop him pardoning a known felon associated with Whitwater in his last week of office. Was THAT any of your business? He wasn't a succesful president. that's like saying Reagan was a succesful President. You know the U.S. is borrowing over ten billion dollars a month from China to buy things the U.S. can no longer produce because they have forgotten how to manufacture what it is people want.
We are NOT borrowing ten-billion dollars from China a month, Thank you very much. Just the fact that China does lend us money is because of Regan supporting international diplomacy. Not to mention the fact that he almost single-handedly ended the Cold War. I know down under, that did not really affect you. However, it did affect Russia, America, Germany, and many other european countries, including China and Cuba...
I understand that it may be hard for your tiny brain to comprehend this, but being an American, I believe Regan's presidency has affected this country in a way that is incomprehendable to any one who is not an American.
Excuse me! I could rightly inquire of you why you DO beleive? It's not just the fact there is no proof for God that distrubs me, it's the fact that even by its own logic, religion has failed. More and bloodier wars have been fought in its name than practically anything else. The most religious man in the world the Dalai Lama was happy when India exploded its nuclear weapon. He is not setting a very high standard for the rest of us.
I already told you. I believe becuase it all makes sense. There may be no proof that God exists, but that is why it is called faith. Yes, there have been many wars fought in the name of religion, but the majority of those were people figting for the right of religious freedom. To believe in what they choose...if anything. I agree that the Crusades and the early church were wrong, however...religion has not failed. I believe you are misinformed about the Dali Lama, because the first of the five..
Yes well it doesn't take too much wit or imagination to realize that the Crusades were wrong. Or the inquisition for that matter. And who was the head of the Congregation for the Indoctrination of the Faith? The current fascist Pope Benedict! Oh and I am NOT misinformed about the Dalai Lama. He doesn't want Tibet to be "free" He wants to have a Buddhist theocracy along the lines of Israel or Iran.
Pope Benedict may not be the best pope the Roman Catholic Church hashave ever had, but he is right in what he thinks. And he does not force his beliefs on anyone as you are doing right now. In Iran, it is a muslim theocracy, that is very strict. The Dalai Lama does not want Tibet to be a Buddhist theocracy.
So you THINK that Pope Benedict is right to sell indulgences for people to show up at his events? Thiis is what the Catholic Church used to do during the dark ages. You don't know what the Dalai Lama would do if he was in charge of Tibet but you can easily infer how nasty he would be if you look at the history of Tibet before the Chinese liberated the place. It was a feudal state.
I just said that I do not think that the early church was right, and Pope Benedict is NOT sellling indulgences. Oh my goodness, the Dalai Lama would not be a nasty man if he were in charge. You are truly angering me now. You don't have a clue what you are talking about, and you say that religion is corrupting the world. However you are the one corrupting people; you are spreading these lies about peaceful religions.
precepts in Buddhim, is to refrain from killing. This includes all violence of any kind. Buddhism is not only one of the most passive and peaceful religions in the world, but the most tolerant and accepting. I am not a Buddhist, but I believe the Dali Lama is setting an amazing example for other people. Just look at him, and you will see.
I would like you to point out where he says that, because I highly doubt that is true. The Lama is a fantastic religious leader. Maybe you should actually crack open a book on religions and their ideals before you start insulting them.
