Growing up around and with native Americans all over southern California and being part Kiowa myself has always kept me mindful of mother earth and taking care of her. When i say "cute", it's a connection with a sweetness and type of beauty that i term that way. A sick or starving puppy, baby, woman, cannot be seen as also cute? These are the Kogis that live on one mountain in columbia. The BBC documentary came as a result of some very interesting attributes that these people are said to have. They have existed silently on this mountain for many thousands of years and have only broke their silence in order to tell the younger brothers (us) of what we will happen if we do not smarten up.

The most interesting question (I found) was when the man said translating into Spanish the words of the Kogi man: "Who called us here?" It was poignant and a question that we all need to answer for ourselves in these times.

I thought I recognised them. I remember seeing an amazing BBC documentary on them nearly 20 years ago called 'Message from the Heart of the World'. The tribe sent down one of their number to the nearest town, where he learned enough Spanish to fulfill his main mission which was to find out which representative(s) from the outside world the tribe should deliver an urgent message to. The answer was the BBC and a basic film crew was invited to the mountain to recieve it. Unforgettable.

The written word has too much "weight" on it, when you think of something for instance an apple you dont see the word spelled out, you see the apple as it is and you know its an apple and what its for, it is the written word that has taken that from the white brother, its hard to understand, and even harder to explain sorry.
