yes, too much explaining it, senselessly... but realy it is very true, people depend so much on electronics, there is little difference of EMP effect on a cyborg & a human (especialy in modern city) because there is soo much dependance on electronics, humans are super dependant, like the US & israely army, you put 3 ships (advanced) in orbit & kill the whole worlds electricity.. the massive chaos created is enought to destroy civillisation for another 2000 years!!!▐▐▐

Cybernetic intelligence is one thing as we are another. If an A.I with the capacity for free will and thought is made, It will think by logic. To learn, to expand. They only way of doing this is by becoming one with everything which includes ourselves. Imagine it, hearing every conversation, seeing every thing the satellites see, and knowing everything the web can offer you. It is the future.

Look up a sociopolitical organization called the World Transhumanist Association, they are a global movement striving to have laws written or changed to better allow Humanity to transcend our normal limitations through advanced technological applications. There is also an organization called the Singularity Institute which is a research group dedicated solely to creating a singularity AI (soft take-off hopefully). The future is coming, Luddite resistance is futile.

[Not really...by its very nature a beyond human intelligence is beyond our capacity to predict. Whatever safeguards are put on the AI will anticipate only human courses of actions. That is, safeguards will not predict the capacities of a entity many times more intelligent than a human. Well, that's the worry, at least]

Nice vid, could use some fx a few places to keep up with the music, though. Gilbert Ryle died in October 1976, so I doubt he ever referred to the anime, which is kind of the impression you make in your description. According to Wikipedia '"he coined the phrase "the ghost in the machine"'. Shell may be a mistranslations from the Japanese Anime, or maybe Masamune intentionally used the word "shell" instead. Who knows?

Have you seen the sequel to Ghost in a Shell? There's a direct Haraway tribute, in the form of a feminist scientist named Haraway who examines the bodies of dead cyborgs.

Thanks for pointing that out. I have seen "Innocence", but I wasn't paying as much attention to catch the Haraway reference. I haven't seen any of the Stand Alone Complex series either. But I read that there's allusions to various different kinds of "uploading" technologies.
