  • Does anyone have the translation of this song? thank you.

  • @vanecrislene It has no lyrics.

  • it's worth to live... i feel so bad for those who will never hear this song

  • I want "Heima" to be one of my 2 funeral songs when I die.

  • @SveinssonErlendur and the other?

  • it's so crazy good...

  • exelente!

    (Y)

  • Is there a studio recording of this song available anywhere?

  • yeah on its on this website, just type in heima and look for the picture of the acoustic guitar.

  • @DesertS7orm No, this is also another live version. (The one they played for the Heima DVD) As far as I know this is the best version anyway, but they actually recorded a studio version as well. I think it was on the japanese version of Heima or something. I could be totally wrong but I heard that a studio version exists as well.

Anyway, you can find a MP3 DVD Rip of the Heima version from the Heima DVD if you google it. (Maybe even the studio recording somewhere)

  • That's not the same one, the studio recording has Icelandic lyrics and is only available on the Japanese import of MSIEVSE. If anyone has that release, I'd love for you to upload that version of Heima to YouTube.

  • @jhillst its on spotify, can listen to it for free a few times :)

  • @jhillst If you can find the Hljomalind single (the song previously known as Rokklagid), the studio version of HEIMA is on there. Alternatively, you can PM me and I can send you an mp3 of it.

  • @jhillst iTunes has it on their Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur single :)

  • Is this the best thing on YouTube? Yes, I think it is.

  • Comment removed

  • @watchhowtobegod yeah, it is

  • ......

  • That's me in the yellow T-shirt in front of Jonsi at 1:36-1:40. It's also my (and my mate's) trainers on the stage in front of him. No kidding. And he punched me at the aftershow party (not intentionally - he was being matey but he was also very drunk).

  • im not really sure what genre sigur ros is.

    gangster rap?

  • ♥

  • would be better if the sound guy turned up the guitars.

  • what can you expect, its bbc, their sound guys suck in general as if its one of the 10 commandments

  • I quite like the fact it's so sparse - albeit unintentionally.

  • standing ovation

  • can't put my finger on it but I love the sound ,it's up to toe top full with emotive creativity.

  • sigur are one of those special bands who manage to connect with their listeners on many emotional levels. they also prove that if the singer and band believe in what they are performing and emotionally connect, then the audience will follow their lead! there really is a song for every occasion as well as every emotion! a very Very special Band!!!

  • pretty as hell.

but i prefer the last chorus with falsetto.

  • I cannot put into words how much I love their music. Every song is breathtaking.

  • their music is indescribably perfect...every note

  • why no falsetto at the end?

  • So calm what a wonderful band

  • Oh what I wouldn't give to be in the front row...

  • I was - right in front of Jonsi. It's such a boast but I think you'll agree it was something to boast about! I'm the one in the yellow T at 1:36-1:40.

  • @GuildfordGhost oh u lucky bastard. sorry i swore at you.but you'll agree it is something to swear about!

  • @mozam007 Mwa-ha-haa! Dare I also tell you I was front row at the massive Reykjavík gig in 2006 and the very next day was looking round their studio? Check out my channel - there's masses of SR things on there, mostly things I did myself but a few TV captures as well. :o) Don't worry about the swearing... I know I'm being a smug bastard about it all!

  • oh sigur ros, what is it about them?i keep goin back to...

  • The most acoustic sound my delicate big ears have heard for a long time, reminds me of the coctaue twins through my headphones on a beach in portugal many years ago, for that moment walking along that beach, alone. If you ever come to wet england and need a singer ill be there.

  • i love - love this song,i love all their songs,it's just like something unreal

  • I know what you mean.

  • i didnt think life hadnt n e thing 4 me but obviousley it does thats y i found u!

  • what's so amazing about sigur ros is the amount of passion and emotion that goes into every song, you can tell that they put their heart and soul into their music which isn't all that common these days.

  • And yet other artists say they too put their heart and soul into the music, yet fail anyway. What´s special about sigur ros is their very ambitious music but the total lack of pretentiousness about them. They are impulsive beings, and don´t intellectualize about the music. That´s why it´s so pure and utterly magical, i believe

  • I tottaly agree with the comments above... and the forgin language makes it that much more powerfull (in a mysterious way)

  • Exactly, it's beautiful because you have to find the emotion in the music rather than in the lyrics.

    <3

  • hehe, like the tag "Dream" :P It's truly like turning in to a beautiful dream when you listen to Sigur Rós

  • class song!

  • Some musicians still do "art". This song is a good example.

  • I agree

  • they played this song about 5 feet away from me. incredible.

icelands version of karma police! just kidding

  • Well Sigur Ros has worked with Radiohead in the past, and Radiohead considers Sigur Ros as a major influence to their own music.

  • @ctseng Can you please please send me the link where they say that they consider Sigur Ros as a major influence, please please D:

  • I like the movie version better too... it has piano. Tragically, you can't find it on ANY of their CDs, not even the one being released on June 23/24.

  • Heima was so truly something.

  • I meant that THIS version has piano. The movie version is two acoustic guitars, which I think sounds better.

  • simply fantastic!Sigur Rós is the best group ever![:

  • I love this song. I prefer the other acoustic version but it's always beautiful. I expect it will be a single of the next album. If it isn't, it should be.

  • I love how they try substitute one guitar part for the piano to change the sound of the song! Not many people will fiddle around with their songs!

what i would give to have been there...

  • wow.

  • Why does the guy say it isn't called Heima? This song IS Heima. It's on the Bonus DVD menu under "Álafoss" because thats where their studio is. It was recorded especially for the film I believe. It weird how I think it feels very...homely... like warm and stuff, seeing as the tite means 'at home'

  • Yeah sorry about that. I uploaded this video before the DVD came out. I saw them at the premier of Heima, and didn't know the title of the track.

  • At last I've found this song! I heard it on the BBC Electric Proms and have been looking for it every since! Probably one of the most haunting pieces I've ever heard.

  • :)

I had not heard this song until the film.

    I want this concert!

  • oh nice..did they play heima? hey how did you manage to get this and put it on? do you know if there are any audio files of it around?? thanks again!

  • A friend of mine sent me the BBC performance showing Sigur Ros. I didn't find any information on this particular song. This song is not part of any of their other albums; however, Sigur Ros did release a two disc album along with the DVD release of Heima. Unfortunately, this song was not on the disc release either. I any one knows any information on this song, please reply.

  • This song is in the Heima mp3 collection. I've hit. In this collection there are all of the songs of the movie.

  • yeah if you torrent search heima movie, some guy uploaded all the audio from the bonus disk from the film heima... which contains an mp3 version of this song

  • wow your a legend for putting this on... i was at this concert, and i think it was most amazing and touching performance ive ever witnessed... i got to hug jonsi goggi and kjartan after as well!!

  • I'm jealous. Although I had the opportunity to see them live at the Arclight theater in LA for the premier for Heima.
