It's been over 30 years, but that fake FG/pass to Efren Herrera never gets old!! I also enjoy that run by Doornink near the end of the clip -- running backward while valiantly trying to shove Rolland Lawrence off of him... classic stuff!!
Seahawks Monday Night debut also brought "the wave" to the world. I remember the announcers freaking out when it happened. Husky Stadium, then the King Dome, then everywhere else.
I have no idea, yet, I've never liked it. I know, circus type play equals circus type music, yet, they could have used a better track. The video sea78nyj has a nice music track.
The Seahawks were a crazy team back then....and were probably a ton of fun to root for as an expansion team having decent success early on. They need to go back to those uniforms immediately....and trash the XFL ones they have now. I never understood the change in the first place, or how someone could approve such a horrendous look.
@ytownteddy - I agree that the old uniforms were badass, however, I disagree about what yer saying in regards to the new uniforms. I just think they need to go back to the silver helmets and gray pants. I dig the new Seahawks blue because, in general, the fans look better in the apparel. Royal blue is a little dated, however, in some instances if the design is right looks super; i.e. Seahawks 1976-79 uniforms. Check out my 'Seahawks @ Chiefs 1978 video.
1979, the only thing I remembered about Seahawks Football back then was when the Rams went to the Kingdome and held Seattle to a record combined negative yardage throughout the game in shutting out the Seahawks.
One of the few bright spots to the Rams 9-7 season in 1979, that was before going to Super Bowl XIV and losing a close game to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
does anyone know the name of the long snapper on this play?

When your just starting out as a franchise sometimes you have to be creative to be competitive.

@76hawks
It's an old Welsh song called "Men of Harlech" I think. Could be wrong.

The Hawks need some of that creative football now. When they sucked back then they were exciting.

Don't forget though, they were 9-7 in 78 and 79. Dang it, those games WERE exciting back then!
icezebra77 2 years ago
You are correct, but they used creative football to make up for the lack of talent.
