This sounds absolutely NOTHING like the original Soda Stereo song. However, the 'unplugged' version of the Soda Stereo track recorded FOUR YEARS after this, sounds extremely similar. I would hazard a guess that it is they who heard Ride and, we'll say, paid tribute. No disrespect to Soda Stereo but I don't think they get heard much in Britain.

Quit complaining about this sounding like Soda Stereo. Have you ever thought that maybe Ride liked the song and wanted to make their own version out of it. It happens all the time. Some artist don't want to do a cover they want to expand on a song and make it bigger than the original. That's all you have people, I am the biggest Ride fan and have saw interviews where they admit to changing songs around that they have heard and thats all this is, so get over it. @marceloes12 If you read my comment I never said they took if from Soda stereo. I was making a point in general.If you look at their past interviews they have admitted on more than one occasion that they have taken riffs from other songs and made their own.

I have been in contact with Loz and he says he will probably never play in Ride again, because he is happy doing his own thing, so all this is pretty much a moot point. No Loz on drums, No Ride

The Ride song isn't my personal fav but it is a good song of theirs. I sat through the Soda Stereo from '85 and I don't see anything similar. Where the fuck did you get this from? Is there a Ride DVD somewhere about because I haven't found one yet. This is a great song and Andy Bell isn't a great song writer but he fits in nice next to Noel Gallagher in Oasis now. He is still a good one but I think Bell has written his best songs on the album "Don't Believe The Truth" with the opening cut "Turn Up The Sun" and the later track on the album "Keep the Dream Alive".
