I remember taking the Trollley to Tiedtkies to see my father as he worked in the appliance department selling sewing machines. Also my mother and I went to see Art Linkletter and his television show Kids Say the Darnest Things. Where have our morals gone from that area?
I recall the grocery store, and at Christmas time they had a huge wheel of cheese they would sell from. And of course the toys at Christmas, were not to be believed.
This is so cool you posted this here. I showed my Grandmother (She is 96!) and she loved seeing this.. she said Downtown Toledo and Tiedtke's was the place to be back then.. really booming with business and people everywhere.
