I watched this, it was even worse than Roberto Benigni's version. In this, Pinocchio is a real boy with only a wooden heart and only becomes a puppet when he's bad. And he only gains humanity once he has a proper heart. Carlo Collodi would be turning in his grave.

Dopo aver visto lo sceneggiato di Comencini, gli altri Pinocchio mi sembrano tutti finti e americanizzati, compreso quello di Benigni. Questo sembra riprenderne l'idea di base e cioè di "umanizzare" da subito il personaggio. Ma contiene tutte le premesse per essere un brutto Pinocchio. Altra cilecca!!!
