What I would like to know is, who is really in charge in China? Who is it that controls the military and police? Does President Hu Jintao hold the reigns, or does someone else, say Premier Wen Jiabao, rule China and use Hu Jintao as a protective façade?

Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission (since 2004); 3. President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) (since 2003) and 4. Chairman of the PRC Central Military Commission (since 2005). If you notice, the first two positions are within the communist party and the latter two are within the country.

Oh & both Japan & Spain were the fastest growing economies of the 60s,70s,80s that worried the US businesses. But then once they fell,they truly fell & could not recover. Nope what I am saying if we have different ideas like diff parties it means,newer ideas to help the country. And yes my problem is the 1 party system of China which represses opposition parties. You see in the 80s conservatives gave the US high growth,when the 90s came,a democrat was installed & continued the strong growth bc of the diff ideas Reagan & Clinton had.
