@horrorbabe666 for this test I didnt. This test was just a quick reference so people could see what it looks like before downloading and installing it. I would definitely recommend exposing in neutral if your shooting in a non run and gun environment. If your shooting a wedding you may miss the shot if you constantly do that, so instead I recommend watching StillMotions Color Tutorial Part 1 in camera on Vimeo. I highly recommend watching their videos if your interested in DSLR filmmaking.
Nice.. I'm impressed as well. CineStyle is indeed a tool to shoot flat. It's makes post production a lot easier CC wise. Imo you should've shown some color corrected CineStyle footage as well to show that you can still get a beautiful result because now it somewhat looks like the CineStyle is bad compared to the rest (for the beginners)
@MrNuun I filmed when cinestyle first came out and was one of the first people to post it so others can see how well it works. Their are tons of videos out there with color corrected versions of cinestyle. I probably should have done that but I wasnt thinking about it at the time. At the time I was only thinking about getting it up. Thanks for commenting :)
Nice test ! What would have been really usefull is a final output of the S-Log after color grading. That way, we can see how the details in the highlights appear. Is cinestyle compatible on PC ? Will it also work on Davinci Resolve ?
@bobjackmon I basically searched YouTube looking for music. I typed things like emotional piano songs, or piano playlist etc... You basically want to search the same things or things of that sort or what your looking for. Things like sad piano or happy piano. Once I found it I either searched for the song and bought it or if I couldnt find it I would record the sound straight from the video, extract it, transcode it into a acceptable format I liked.
more dynamic range? how? it isnt HDR, just the blacks are grey'ed out. i could do that in post processing, so whats the advantege of this picture style?
@Uristenzor Hey I suggest you do some research so you can better understand the purpose of shooting flat, it will help you understand why RED and Alexa cameras shoot flat. Head on over to cinema5D so you can read about it and understand it more while also learning about lut and log. Make sure to check out the technicolor post in the news section and in the forum.
this is a godsend for me. I shoot EVERY video with this preset

Excellent comparison. I myself was curious how it compared to the neutral picture style, thankfully, you've answered it for me!
Great work.

@MetalMonkeyStudios The flatter the image the more grading options you have in post-production.
