And as for fossil fuels, did you forget that almost every country in the world relies on coal fired power stations, which would have to increase output massively for a mass introduction of electric cars?

@icetonky Research has been done in the field of electric cars but it has quite e long way to go. However, they are a very good way of dealing with climate change and the greenhouse effect: we must stop relying so much on fossil fuels. And by the way: Brazil is one of the countries wich does not relies on coal based enegy... but they still cause environmental impact with their hydroelectricity facilities but not as much as fossil fuel burning.
