So lets say this one male, being a little more bisexual, practices with another male, so that when he comes to the real thing, hes not as nervous, and he knows the moves, and hes more apt to inseminate her. But thats just a hypothesis, regardless theres a reason homosexuality exists, its benificial at some level. Surrogate mothers, inseminating a female friend, not to forget adopting children already living in foster homes (ie stolen by the state)... The ability to create a child is still there (but raising it within a family of two same-sex parents) and millions of children need a home already.

In genetics, a trait can be turned on and off, meaning that the "mutation" could be present without taking effect, and then the trait could be "turned-on" during the formation of the offspring.
However, there are also LGBT people involved in heterosexual relationships (whether they are attracted to the opposite sex or not), or have otherwise reproduced- another means for passing on so-called mutations.

A good summary. One theory I've heard as to how 'gay genes' proliferate is that, since we're social animals, homosexuals who don't reproduce are able to help their siblings raise children successfully, children who partly share their DNA.
This ties in well with the idea of the same gene producing especially fertile women - it's presumably much easier to raise your dozen kids when you have three brothers and their gay lovers hanging around and helping out with the chores.

So lets say this one male, being a little more bisexual, practices with another male, so that when he comes to the real thing, hes not as nervous, and he knows the moves, and hes more apt to inseminate her. But thats just a hypothesis, regardless theres a reason homosexuality exists, its benificial at some level. The purpose of life, in an evolutionary perspective, is to pass on genes. I think what people are forgetting is that evolution doesnt just happen at the individual level. I think that the only prejudiced thing the person mentionned is the "defective gene" which not at all true, by process of deduction, since homosexuality is preserved through evolution, in many animal populations, not just humans. I don't see the argument about reproduction having a point:
Surrogate mothers, inseminating a female friend, not to forget adopting children already living in foster homes (ie stolen by the state)... The ability to create a child is still there (but raising it within a family of two same-sex parents) and millions of children need a home already.

@ZJemptv homosexuality and pedophilia are alike in some aspects yes as they are both desires of a sexual nature that one seems to be unable to control. how could you judge a pedophile for being the way he is? you should be the first to know his struggle. they dont choose their sexual attraction just like none of us do. but they are denied their desire more so that you are and aint no one fighting for them so i think gay people should stop playing the whoa is me card.

@ZJemptv before i start i wanna say (mostly to "concervatives") that i as an individual, do not "aprove" of homosexuality, pedophilia or zoophilia; that being said, i dont judge. what i'm trying to say is that today we connotate zoophilia and pedophilia with the same sentiment that homosexuality had before the 60s, that is of "people looking to rape"... now we know gays for the most part r not roaming trying to rape men, and the same should go aroung for ppl with an attraction to child or animal

@ZJemptv People who desire animals or children in an unnatual sexual way ain't no different, at all just what they desire, same concept, so are those people not sick, people who want to have sex with a child, or an animal. Why does the rules of the game change now for Homosexuals who unnatual desire is people of the same sex? Someone who for whatever reason thinks they are a women when they are a man or vice verse, how is that any different than other mental issues where people who are skinny think they see themselves as fat, or other paranoid delusions? It's all word games and political correctness and pressure from gay and lesbian groups!

I just think it's defect that should be studied, & prevented and looked at as a medical and/or mental problem and delt with like other problems and NOT viewed as something normal. It's like saying if I want to cure any other mental problem or chemical imbalance that somehow I "HATE" the victims of those problems too, makes no sense sorry!

But, in nature a male wouldn't be able to breed with that female , and that female wouldn't pass on her genes so many in time the defect won't get passed on it's caused natural selection and a bad comeback sorry, study more!

@OurWhitevoices It occurs far more frequently (1000-10000 times more) than genetic defects. Whatever the reason, there must be an evolutionary reason why homosexuality has been kept around for so long.

Sure, they can't reproduce with someone who they are in love with, but that does not imply a defect. Again, if a man falls in love with an infertile female, this does not imply that the MAN has a defect.

My whole point is that two people of the same sex can't reproduce cause of malformed desire to the wrong sex and the only way they can is to get with or get a donation from the other sex sperm or egg. @OurWhitevoices It has to do with the argument because you were saying a gay man needs a woman to reproduce, as if a straight man somehow didn't. My point in comparing homosexuality to the frequency of genetic defects was to illustrate that homosexuality is far more prevalent in the animal kingdom and therefor must have been selected for by natural selection somehow. If it were an actual defect it would be much, much more rare.
