1:42 thats actualy the little known eyecrosser knot except you put the line in the hook twice and tighten it down for the eyecrosser. the eyecrosser is stronger than the uni because theres a thing someone does called knot wars where theres a machine that gets the strength of them. for the uni you just bring the line back the the eye the opposite way and do the same thing.
The first way of connecting lines with the uni-knot (terminating connection style) wouldn't be a strong knot. The two knots would tighten down on themselves, pinching the line at the two loops, and would cause breakage.
The second way is much stronger, but only for lines of equal diameter.
