I don't think that covering up your outer beauty is the only way to reveal your inner beauty — just as I think that Western standards of beauty (make-up, hair styles, fashionable clothing, etc.) can be resisted, if you want, short of wearing hijab.

To me, the hijab and the burka say that there is something wrong with a woman's body, that it's something to be ashamed of. And I think that this sends the wrong signal. I've heard opposing Muslim views, but I'm still not convinced.
