What a fantastic vet! Thankyou for posting this and glad to hear that the cow got in calf again. Just goes to show how crucial it is to handle one's animals and treat them with respect. Just one question....did this prolapse happen because she was put in calf to a bigger bull and the calf was too big for her to push out?
That is nuts! I could NEVER breed cows, I'd pass out if that ever happened! Holy crap I'm glad the vet knew what to do. I didn't know that could happen.
Well done to this vet and glad to hear both the cow and her calf recovered well. I do hope you done breed her again though as isn't likely to happen again.
@twilightingX Hi, it was a few years ago now, but I believe she did get back in calf the next year & we've still got her. She wasn't in any pain as she'd had an epidural. There's no real danger to the cow as long it's caught in time. While the womb is out blood keeps being pumped in but cant escape so the prolapse get bigger & bigger. We haven't had another one since. But now I've said that..........
to (indianbengal) it's a natural thing. it's not disturbing posting up a video, for peolpe like myself ,who want to become a veterinarian to observe and learn from it.
