Crosby and Ovi are talented...and they also happen to be the NHL's golden geese - we needn't examine that any further. Datsyuk is an artist and has more actual skill than both. All you have to do is check out highlights from all 3 players and choose the one that surprises you most - it will be Dats.
Crosby and Ovie will get their pub, and that's fine. Neither of them is as well-rounded as Pav. He plays in all situations, and while he doesn't have Ovie's shot or Crosby's finishing ability, he's more dangerous. Why? Because his passing ability is unparalleled, he leads the league in takeaways every year (a stat I'm convinced they only started tracking because of him), and he is among the best stickhandlers in the league. No one has the package of highest- level skills that he does- flawless.

Dats not only beats D-men and goalies, he embarasses them! They try and read him and he dekes them out of the rink. Plus, I like that he uses his backhand a lot where nowadays players use their forehands all the time. It's very difficult for a goalie to read a backhand shot.

Datsyuk will soon become a living legend, if he allready isn´t. Him, Ovechkin, Malkin, Semin, Gonchar, Kovalchuk oh man.. so from russians, to... be proud canadians, not only does all of them play in your leauge, your team canada also smacked russia H-A-R-D in vancouver. Sports when it is at it´s best. Hopefully nhl player can participate in 2014 also. Can´t wait for that one.

@masterofshrimp because for a long time he couldn't speak english so they didn't interview him... and he's not flamboyant like Ovechkin. Not only is he unbelievable with the puck, he's the best defensive forward in the NHL, he's a great setup guy, great scorer, makes every player on the ice better. To me Crosby isn't even in this discussion. Datsyuk has 95% of Ovechkin's offensive skill and 200% more defensive skill... that makes him the best player in the NHL.

Dats not only beats D-men and goalies, he embarasses them! They try and read him and he dekes them out of the rink. Plus, I like that he uses his backhand a lot where nowadays players use their forehands all the time. It's very difficult for a goalie to read a backhand shot.

Almost everyone says that Oveckin or Crosby is the best players in the world, not a chance just look at Datzyuk he may not be as fast or shoot as hard as Oveckin but his eye for the game , passings andhis goal´s telling you everything Datzyuk is the best player in the world

I'm waiting for Datsyuk to lead the NHL in goals, win an MVP. I'm waiting for Datsyuk to reach the 100 point mark for the 1st time in his life at age 32. Crosby's done it 4 times by age 22. I am waiting for Datsyuk to lead the Playoffs in goals and lead the playoffs in scoring. I am waiting for him to win An Olympic Gold Medal and the overtime goal. Don't know why Datsyuk isn't mentioned as one of the best hockey players playing today. He is right up there with Ovechkin and Crosby, just ESPN hates all Detroit sports teams.

Datsyuk IS better then BOTH Crosby and Ovechkin. Crosby gets WAY too much press. He is not the best player in the league. Hell he's not even the best play on his TEAM. Malkin is a more complete payer then Crosby.
Datsyuk in THE most complete player in the NHL. He plays in all three zones and can steal a puck from you and put it in the net faster then you can blink.

@masterofshrimp Anyone that knows anything about hockey knows that he has the best hands in the NHL. He isn't mentioned very often because he is a huge team player and very modest. Usually people are recognized as superstars because they act the part, Datsyuk acts like he is a prospect trying to make the team. Amazing player and person.
