While I agree that it is unwise for adult men to date girls under 18, It should be remembered that there are several states that do NOT prohibit men from having sex with a 16 year old girls. Rhode island is one of them. It should also be remembered that any girl of any age can, if sufficiently provoked, make a false accusation of rape. So, depending on what sate you are in, dating a 16 year old may not get you prison and dating an 18 year old is not neccesserily safe either.
