book of eli was religious junk. bible ain't the best book ever written. srsly you'll watch the movie in 2 yrs and you'll think wtf did i like in it? and it borrowed a lot from Ray Bradbury's 451 Fahrenheit
there's 2 kinda post-apo. movies... realistic ones, (children of men, the road, etc) and stupid manga-style action-based ones (book of eli, terminator 3, etc)... any of the second type of movie just CAN'T be compared to the ones from the first type!

better to have tank girl on the list than dawn of the dead. and i'm still not sure what was so great about the book of eli - the whole story revolving around the bible was not very compelling and the characters were not all that interesting. mad max rockatanski is one of the greatest sci fi characters of all time
Sorry, I am Legend sucked compared to the original. The Last Man on Earth is much closer to the book, and much more interesting as the creatures show more than rudementary intelligence, Glad to see A Boy and His Dog on here though, not many know about it

I really dont put zombie movies in the same category as post apocalyptic it would be if the zombies had all died out apocalyptic thing is where there are a few small factions no one has much technology and knows whats beyond the horizon and everyone is looting of the old world and there is lots of trade and theres some group that just kills everyone

I agree that The Road is one the the best post-apocalyptic movies there is, there isn't a character that always wins, it's what it would most likely actually look like, barely able to survive, having to deal with hunger, sickness ect, the visuals were amazing and the actors were excellent.
The Road in my opinion is one of the best post-apocalyptic movies of all time. The imagery and detail in that movie was just absolutely amazing and the performance of the characters was remarkable. They made it seem so real, and that is truly what a post-apocalyptic world would be like.
@NateNunez I agree, one of the grittiest and most heartbreaking movies ive ever seen. The fact that it looked so damn real is what really got me though
