it's possible, however i was just speculating, but it was proper no matter what his reason, i've tried it loads of times in the past two weeks and could only manage it a couple of times. he did it during a game thats sick

Like the infamous "show boat"... The funny thing is that these things are useless for scoring but great for the crowd. And this is why Kanchelskis was a great player, because he wasn't just thinking for himself, but for the others and for the show. However his career was ended by a crazy foul by the nigerian defender Taribo West when he came to play to Italy... a bad end for a great wing!
